hello,

i used to chain-smoke sometimes. a few times a week, i'd go through 8-10 cigarettes in one sitting. loved it. didn't feel addicted, just enjoyed smoking.

at some point though, i couldn't get through one cigarette without wanting to or actually throwing up. i had no idea why, and ended up buying packs anyway, thinking i would get over it eventually; and eventually throwing them out because i couldn't smoke. i wasn't trying to quit or even slow down, but now i haven't smoked in months because it just makes me too sick. i used to like the smell, even that gets me a little nauseous now.

chew makes me a little sick, too, not as much as smoking but i was never crazy about chewing in the first place, so i didn't feel the need to take it up.

i think this started few months after i'd been taking ambien regularly, and i'm wondering if it was related.

has anyone else had an effect like this? do these two just not mix? or was it probably something else that led to getting sick from smoking?

It sounds like you just developed an aversion to nicotine after what I am guessing was one or a couple few too many experiences where you just ingested too much nicotine for your nicotine tolerance, especially not even being an habitual smoker. Nicotine's effects are fairly complex, but it does not sound too odd how you are describing your experience. I do not think it was, at all, related to the Ambien. I think you just got sick from going overboard.

It could very well be Ambien related. I once took 30mg of Ambien for it's "hallucinogenic" effects. Man was I disappointed. I COULDNT smoke a cigarette without this odd sensation in my stomach. It was like the first feeling of throwing up that doesn't escalate into nausea. Can't really explain but I felt sick.

I actually would force myself to smoke. Then feel happy when it's done. Like wtf? Went away when the Ambien metabolized and was excreted tho.

Give the Ambien a rest and see if the problem persists.

Lol "give the Ambien a rest"
I'm a genius.
