Shrooms with heart condition?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was safe to have shrooms (say 2-3 grams of Psilocybe Cubensis (blue meanies)) if you have a heart condition and if it's your first time?

Well if something like a panic attack can mess up your heart I would say its definitely not safe and you'd be playing with fire to an extent.

I know nothing of heart conditions, but based on some nasty experiences I've had I would imagine a panic attack of paranoia and anxiety which elevates your heart rate and blood pressure to high levels would be something that you woudln't want to have happen, and it can happen, and I'd wager some would say will happen eventually (maybe not your first time, maybe not ever, but the possibility is there).

What happens if you ever get extremely frightened?

I would proceed with caution if you decide to do so. My friend who also had a heart condition had a seizure a few months ago when we did mushrooms. It was a scary experience to say the least

What heart condition?

If you have an asymptomatic VSD, I'd say no problem. Something like Wolff Parkinson White syndrome, I might tread more carefully. Just saying "heart condition" is about as helpful as saying "brain condition" as far as what exactly might be a problem.

Seizures are probably unrelated to any heart conditions. I take 400mg carbamazepine as a prophylaxis for doses over 2g.

Also worth noting beta blockers are great with shrooms. I only trip on 40mg propranolol now.

Danger is a variable from the experience you have. You could have the greatest experience of a lifetime, but I don't think it'd be worth the risk of the potential for things not falling into their perfect places for a flawless experience.

What kind of heart condition do you have? That is a really broad generalization. If it's just something like being prone to panic attacks, that can be treated easily with a benzo's or breathing exercises. Something like extremely high blood pressure, I'd advise against taking psychedelics that can cause intense visuals and so forth.

Hi again, I'm not the one with the heart condition it was my friend. I spoke to him and he said it was supra ventricular tachycardia. He said it was non-fatal, but what could happen is his heart will beat really fast for like 20 minutes when he is stressed. But he seemed keen to try shrooms so I suggested he ease into it with 0.7 grams followed by an additional 0.5 grams an hour later and he said he was fine. I guess the main concern is that he not have so much or have the experience be so alien to him that he has a panic attack.

Depends on the kid - if he can't handle his high then his heart will race like a motherfucker. If he stays calm then it's probably no more of a threat to his heart than watching an exciting film or sports match.

But unexpected things happen, especially if you push the dose higher. He didn't do very many, but I am personally drawn to one instance where I was on cloud nine one second and then out of nowhere I was struck with crippling paranoia and anxiety and basically freaked the fuck out. I was far too twisted at the time to even think of something like my heart-rate, but I am certain it skyrocketed, as it has other times in my life when something that induces this kind of state, such as a cop pulling up behind me when I am driving without a license. This came out of nowhere and really had nothing to do with handling my high, whatever that even means. You truly never know when a bad trip is going to present itself. I do concede some handle them better than others, but just because you can hang onto reality and keep yourself together doesn't mean your heart won't be beating out of your chest.
