Should School Districts Drug-Test Teachers?

My kid's fourth grade teacher was a known crackhead; she and her husband had lost their home and alienated their children by way of their drug use.

She was one of the most excellent teachers he has had yet to date.

So, I dunno.

In general, I find drug testing to be highly intrusive and invasive. If a person can perform their job, (with some exceptions, such as the aforementioned pilot, truck driver, etc.), I think it's nobody's business but theirs what they do to get through life.

what about testing for meth? You get fucked up on meth for at least a week. I thik there should be an exception here...

Qwe, more enlightened or not I think if the school is forcing a drug testing policy on the children then the staff should sure as hell have to submit to them too! I am against drug testing in most if not all circumstances but you know, if the kids are going to be forced so should they.

Politicians and coppers are the only people that I think should be drug tested always. Unfotunately I get drug tested at the moment and it sucks balls. Nobody should have to have their piss analysed for enjoyable substances.

public schools do NOT drug test students though... so i don't get your point at all

It depends on what we're talking about. If we're talking opiate addiction or alcoholism then definately yeah, but if they're toking up in the morning and can't teach properly because they're stoned then they just need to harden up and learn that there's a time and place.
