Should School Districts Drug-Test Teachers?

I do not believe that teachers should be drug tested. I do, however, believe that they should receive better pay for the work they do. This would ensure higher standards which would maintain a highly professional atmosphere. Better teachers help mold children into good people; conversely, under-qualified teachers can do psychological harm to children.

Wonderful post!!! Well put... Absolutly agreed.. Its like negative after negative after negative, now drug testing... unreal... teachers deserve but they rarely get in most cases. Teachers provide priceless knowledge and development to a child/teen/adult. Higher standards will weed out the under-qualified/lower class human beings who will not be able to "hang," in an atmosphere were only the effective/professional survive. Teaching is an art, or a personal gift, one cannot "become a teacher," "one already is a teacher."

of course they should be drug-tested...if i had kids i wouldn't want my childrens' teacher fucked up and teaching. that's retarded and completely irresponsible. if they have a hit or somethin after work thats different, but that may have to take the risk you take to get high and hold that kind of job.

so what you're saying is they shouldn't be drug tested and that is correct. hell, nobody should for that matter.
