I'm about 25 hours into withdraw and i can barely take it anymore. I use opiates recreationally.

Should i call my doctor and tell him i've been using and see if i can get clonodine or maybe lyrica

I am never touching opiates again. I have too much to live for. I had quit at one point. What exactly is going to happen when i tell him?

u will be red flagged as a drug abuser well not for sure but most likely anyways who cares wut he thinks or says if you really wanna stop then tel him the deal and ask him for his opinion

Yes tell him for sure. Clonidine helps a good bit but doeset cut it for every symptom. But mixed with other meds it can be a godsend.

ok. Another thing i'd like to point out is that i am under 18. Would that make any difference? i'm about 26 hours into withdraw

age got nuthing to do with it if anything i think the doctor will b glad 2 c how responsible u r at such a young age
i wish i had my head str8 like u do now when i was ur age u hav all my respect : )

In my opinion, it depends how bad your habit was...I wouldn't talk to my doctor unless it was a really big issue. Cold turkey has a few bad days, but you will probably be screwed for a long time if you talk to him.

You could be red flagged for your whole life, which would make it way harder to get pain medication if you were in pain, or other scheduled drugs for years to come. It will probably only get stricter. Also, since your under 18 I doubt they will prescribe you some medications that they would prescribe someone else that is 30.

If it is terrible, and you had a really bad addiction then maybe it would be worth it to use these resources. If not, cold turkey IS possible and you're makin' your way through! 26 hours is great, and if you weren't using methadone or something you are really far into the withdrawal symptoms. Good luck, I know you can do it! :)

If you have a good relationship with your doctor, I think its a good idea to tell him what is going on. I did the same thing; called up my long-time family doc and told him i had been abusing opiates and could he do anything to help- He called in some scripts (Methocarbamol, Bentyl, IBU, etc.) to help with the kick , no benzos or anything narcotic tho , and eventually referred me to a psychiatrist who could write for Suboxone

i talked to him and all went well. the clonodine is helping, 31 hours in now. hopefully peak should be soon
