Hey guys, i shot up into the inside crook of my elbow, where those huge veins are. Mine however have been dead for quite some while. So i tried shooting up a little ( quarter inch) up and maybe an 1/8 to the side. I whent straight in with. 5/16ths needle and drew back. Blood came in so i pushed down. Near the end was a sharp burning feeling on the outside of my elbow, so i pulled out and ripped the belt off and it was fine. Until yesterday, one day after, there is a big red bruise on the outside of my fore arm, a little ways away from where i shot up and on the oposite side of my arm. And my elbow was really sore to bend. I thought not much of it and slept it off. Today i woke up and its a little more swollen and much stiffer and hurts to bend. I could barely lift a phone to my ear. So i iced it for a bit, which helped. But, not sure whats going on. I think its possible i hit an artery but i really didnt do very much, maybe 20cc's of very watery buprenorphine. It was a dumb relapse. Ive been on subutex for maybe 8 months and totally clean. Just had a bad day. Any ideas what this is people? I can send pictures if someone had a cell or email to share.

It most likely would've been more painful when you were shooting up if you hit an artery. It sounds like you just missed your shot, maybe just partially. No one here is going to be able to give you solid medical advice on your particular situation though. It's really tough to judge these things without being there.

I would alternate heat and cold on the spot and see if it diminishes the swelling. If it gets worse at all, you should seek professional medical attention. You should know yourself best, if you don't feel right, get help.

Just like ATL said: heat and cold, see if the swellings gone down, check the redness. Then don't second-guess yourself and seek medical help.

If you need a place other than a hospital: in my city, a few of the NX's do free medical consultation and shot or wound care. Might have that where you live, so do a search b/c even here it's only available at certain times… I've taken a couple friends to the NXs here for missed/problematic shots, and they've been treated with skill, care and compassion. Hope it works out and your symptoms resolve quickly w/o a trip to the docs.

Fuck of a thing to happen on a very rare bad day.

dude shooting up is very dangerous, if its bright pink then its infected. If its just a bruise.. well that happens, you should def hit up a clinic, because there is always a chance that you have some kind of genetic disorder and are prone to clotting which is deadly, clinic visit is only 10$ and if canada its free. for faster healing dont put any pressure and use a sling keeping the arm at 45degree angle
