Heroin Shot up heroin and experienced extremely unpleasant rush followed by swelling

So I got a new "batch" of heroin tonight, My guy told me it was really good ecause it made him itch. I shot three dimes and next thjing I know i am in intense pain, pins and needles all over and intense itching. Now I have had this happen to me before, so I knoew not to worry, just my brace myself and let it pass. The thing is, this time my whole body seemed to swell up. My favce sweled up really badly and (thank the Lord) it is beginning to go down.

Wbhat caused this? Could it have been morphine? I recall reading on here that morphine causes pins and needles type feeling when injected. Now I am scared to do any more of this dope.
 
It sounds like it was cut with something that your body dosent like. It could be bad dope. I would not try more. I would be scared too. If your face and throat are swelling with problems breathing I would go to the hospital to get checked out. It sounds like a histamine release. Try taking some Benadryl if it's mild. I hope your ok.

Do you get Tar heroin in Michigan? If so it could have gotten moist and converted back into Morphine. However I've had this happen with East Coast powder so it could be some nasty cut as well. The burn didn't move away from your heart did it (like, if you shot in the crook of your elbow, did the burn move towards your chest or did it move towards your hand)?
 
No, I have never even seen tar heroin. The itchiness/pain started in my face and shoulders and legs abdomen and then spread everywhere pretty similar to how a normal rush works. It could be a cut I guess, but I have had this happen to me before just without the swelling. The swelling is what scared me, as I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and was horrified. The swelling went away after about 15 min though.

I don't know this means much but this heroin was extremely brown and produced a dark brown liquid in the syringe whereas most of the heroin I get is light brown/ off white in color and does not produce such a dark amber colored liquid when combined with water.
 
It could be morphine AND some cut that caused a combined histamine response but with facial swelling that is so obvious that it worried you to look at I would say for sure do NOT do more. Often a reaction like this will become worse with subsequent doses and it sounds like you could be putting yourself at risk for anaphylaxis. Find a new batch. Dangerous.
 
It could be that there is more codeine in there as an impurity, which would cause a dangerous histamine reaction.
 
^This I didn't think of but that's def a possibility. A scary one at that. It's shit like this that reminds me how crazy our drugs policy is in the US when it comes to hard drugs. Addicts and users should have access to safe medicine. We treat animals more humanely than people.
 
^ Small amounts of codeine may end up in heroin if it isn't refined as much, so I don't think it's cut, just that it was in there to begin with.
 
^ Yea it is definitely bad for you. Codeine makes up a small percentage of opium and is present during the conversion of opium to heroin. It precipitates out during one of the steps, but some may make it into the final product. You usually don't have to worry about codeine ending up in the heroin, but if the process is not done correctly some may end up in the final product. It's not supposed to end up in there, but considering that the process is done in some areas that lack the finest lab equipment it's bound to end up in some of it as an impurity.
 
I have continued to use this same dope, but with low doses. I have had no more problems. My bet is that there is a lot of morphine in this batch and shooting too much causes a massiv histamine release.
 
I sincerely hope you're micron filtering a solution that appeared BROWN in the syringe... If that doesn't raise red flags, I don't know what does.....
