A long time ago i broke the point off of a syringe and dropped it in my room. The thought that it could still be present has aways worried me only because there are sometimes (very rarely) children in here as well as my friends who frequent. I've always worried one of the would step on it.. However i just stepped on something that give me a pinch and made my foot bleed for a short while (three solid drips and then it stopped). There's no bleeding and no pain and i cant even see where the puncture occured, however i'm quite worried, so worried this is my first time signing on or posting in almost a year of straight lurking.

what do i do?

I can push down hard anywhere on my foot and i feel no pain however i "know" its in my foot. i can just tell. plus its tingling sensation.

Perhaps go to a doctor and get this checked up? Have an xray done on your foot to see if there is something stuck in it. Also too if you are still worried that the syringe of the needle is still somewhere in your place maybe you should do a general clean up and meticulously clean the floor to make sure the syringe is not there stuck somewhere.

the tingling is probably from the tip hitting a nerve. if it were a substantial bit of needle then you'd still be bleeding through it, if it was just a tiny speck then you'd shed it eventually, if it's even still in your foot. the thing you should do now, and really the thing you should have done in the first place, is sweep the area with a magnet to find the tip

^yep magnet would be great. or a strong vac like a shop vac if you have one. if the point broke off and there is enough of the spike pointing upwards then that thing would just slip in to your foot. so can you see anything on the spot? like when you get a bad splinter you can kinda see a dark spot under the skin. if you are totally against going to a dr and can take the pain, use a razor to try and get it out. sometimes home surg is an option, a dangerous option i might add...

If the needle was stuck in your foot you would feel intense stabbing pain when you try to walk on it.

not neccessarily. Go and get an xray, anything metal will show up. I had a friend who lost a tip in his arm while iving heroin. He didn't get it fixed. Over time, the needle tip migrated to his spinal column where it lodged, causing him debilitating pain up until the time he died. Might not happen. just sayin, somethin i personally observed.
