I understand tolerance and how, after a certain amount of time you build tolerance and where it use to only take you 2 pills to feel the effects, later on it will take 3 and so on. My question is, do any of you have problems feeling the opiates effects because you've taken to many within a few days? I know what my tolerance usually is but last week i went a little overboard, where as I usually dose about twice a day, and I was going about 3 times a day for a few days. The last few days it seems as though I can't get the buzz from the regular amount. I try taking more, then more again, and its useless. This has happened before and I think the only thing that worked was quiting for a few days and then going back again. But I get withdraws when I do that. So basically I seem to be in a position where the pills take away the sickness but I can't get the effects and I believe this to be caused by taking to much during a short bing because taking a higher dose to see if that works simply doesn't. Does this happen to anyone else? I seem to have a hard time finding answers or discussions about this certain type of short term tolerance and I rarely hear of people that usually enjoy the effects of vicodin say they aren't able to get it to work no matter how many they take. Thank you. Also, I take them orally

Welcome to the opiate game.

Now you're in a place where you either quit, double your usual dose or find stronger opiates. I strongly suggest quitting. As at this stage it'll be much easier to do so. Increasing your dosage/doing stronger opiates will lead to the same thing. Eventually you'll be doing it just to keep from withdrawing.

Thanks for your input. My only question is, doubling my usual dose is not working. Is that normal? I feel like people usually say the resolution to the dosage not working anymore is more dosage, but I can't seem to take enough to feel anything and of course, I don't wanna get to crazy with my experimentation on dosage. Is it common to have to take a few days off to feel the effects again? And is there a point where no matter what, vicodin just won't work anymore and you will NEED a stronger pill to feel the effects?
