When it comes to shelf-life, is it dangerous to take any kind of prescription drug after the date has expired? My friend wants to bust out his like, year old Norco's. Is that safe? Cant unusual side effects occur? Because he did that with Adderall, and all kinds unwanted side effects were present for 4-5 days afterward, it also could of been b/c he took friggin 200mg of it in one night, within a couple of hours. <--yes he learned from his stupid mistake, sorta...anyway let me know!
 
No, prescription drugs will not become dangerous a few years after they expire.... now if you have obscure decades-old pills I suppose it's possible, but HIGHLY unlikely.
Most recreational drugs don't lose much potency over time. Expired Adderall's and Norco's will be just as strong as the day they were made, assuming they were in a cabinet or something and not the Amazonian jungle...
Your friends' nasty side effects for days after were indeed due to his taking so much Adderall. Speed binges will do that to you.
 
As a side note, the "discard after" date doesn't really have anything to do with how long the drugs are good for - as Zorn said, with the exception of a FEW DRUGS (and they are not recreational drugs) the pill is going to be as strong as the day it was made.. the FDA simply requires that drugs have an expiration date marked..
 
Ok thanks for your help. But I do have one last question, how many Norcos my friend and I should take? Im really not sure on mgs, I know a slight description of the pill, its yellow with a score on the back, and in the front says Norco, if that helps. My friend doing them with me is a pretty big guy, around 200lbs, and seems to have a tolerance to everythig he has tried in the past. I wasnt sure if stature had anything to do with dosage when it comes to this specific drug. Thanks for your help.
 
Same as you would for any hydrocodone containing pill - some people can get off on as little as (aprox) 15mg, I would say 20mg is a more ideal dose for an opioid virgin with no tollerance at all .. if you want to ensure a buzz (incase you're one of those cursed people with a "natural opiate tollerance") .. or if you're a normal person (in terms of tollerance) - go for a full 30mg ..
 
Ok, but there is only one problem I dont know how many mgs they are. I have seen Norco's before time and time and again and have always seen them the same way, is there any chance all Norcos have the same mgs? B/c if not, would approx. 2 pills each be good, considering not knowing the mgs? Thanks. My friend also wants to know if smoking weed with it is ok, I told him it will be fine because its ok to mix downers with downers, just to double check thanks!
