Shelf life of Black Tar Heroin?

I've got a couple grams of tar that I want to stash away and only do very occasionally (1-2 times/year). Conceivably, this stash could last quite a long time. What is the shelf life of black tar heroin? How should I store it to best preserve its quality (*very* good)? Thanks.
 
I'm from the east coast so I have never dealt with tar, but it seems like this drug isn't the most "stable" preperation...
 
The west coast gets heroin in a black tar form, on the east coast heroin is a white or brown powder.
 
The way I understand it, black tar is not actually diacetylmorphine in most cases. I'm a bad bluelighter at the moment because I can't remember where I read it and I can't find a link...

However, I'm rather sure that here was an article or post claiming that much of black tar heroin was in fact one or more different opiates but not traditional heroin.

Would this have implications for storign it? Or is it mostly a question of moisture and temperature?

In any case, you'd do well to keep it in a cool, dark place.

when i got black tar herion it was kinda sold to me as opium. i smoked it and it didnt do shit. are u suppost to shoot it up?
 
Tar heroin is diamorphine, but does contain some unreacted morphine and other alkaloids. If you leave it out in the open it can decrease in mass due to oxidation, so containing in tupperware and freezing is a good method to store for prolonged periods of time. And real tar heroin will get you high if smoked.
 
um...I just have a question--if you're only planning on using once or twice a year then why did you buy so much? wouldn't it make more sense to buy in small quantities once or twice a year?

This just doesn't make sense. You bought a few grams of H, but you only plan on doing it once or twice a year? I give it a couple months at most before it's all gone.
 
Not all people get addict crazy, so please don't make assumptions about the guy's post. And maybe heroin is rare in his area like mine, and he took advantage of a new shipment.
 
Actually, I bought this chunk:
a. Because it's really cheap right now -- about 1/2 the usual price.
b. Because I intend to divorce myself from the element I must associate with to procure the H.

As long as I'm not physically addicted, I've always been pretty much able to take it or leave it. I've used opiates for years, and psychological cravings have never been much of a problem. Alas, my days of living "la vida loca" are drawing to a close, but I would like to be able to get high on my birthdays, and maybe on New Year's Eves. (my birthday is June 23, so my doses would be perfectly spread out over the year!)
I figure each indulgence will consist of two shots of about 1/10 gram each. I have about 3 grams, so that works out to 7.5 years the stash should last.:p
 
yep, black tar isnt really heroin in most cases. its just unrefined opium. sometimes you might get lucky and actually have diacetylmorphine in there with the natural alkaloids (morphine, codeine, and paperavine), but i wouldnt count on it.

best way to store it, as with any drug, is in an airtight container. i'd stick it in the freezer for longterm storage, also.

But, even if it is "just unrefined opium," wouldn't there be assay spikes for those 3 alkaloids, anyway? Tar doesn't burn like opium, either.

i've never seen or dealt with tar, so all i know about it is what i've been told by people who are more experienced with it. all the diacetyl i've ever had has been pure powder.
 
It should be real

From what i have read in newspapers is that black tar is supposed to be real heroin with actually a higher potency than most of the brown and white stuff going around, it's from mexico and made with some new procedure or something. Not that i'm an expert in this field but the paper is a pretty reputable source. As far as storage you want it to be very cold or frozen and completely sealed, though you might mess it up as you try to defrost it. Good luck to you
 
I can attest to the fact that the tar heroin i've encountered here on the west coast is not morphine. Opium is different. I am familiar with the effects of pharmaceutical and opium derived morphine, and this tar, for the most part, is moderately pure diacetylmorphine. Opium does not reek of acetic anhydride like this tar does, and definately is not nearly as potent as this tar. The effect of this tar versus refined opium is quite distinguishably different.

All the tar I've seen has been definitely primarily heroin, but I'm sure there are regional differences. I definitely prefer the paler powders though.
