Opioids Shatter opium?

I just got back from a festival and got what I was told was shatter opium down there. I'd never heard of it before but it the fellow praised a lot more than the black tar opium he had so I got a gram. Now my experience with opium is fairly limited but this stuff smokes just like the tar does, just minus the strong taste. It gives you a mellow and very relaxed feeling, accompanied with drowsiness so I'm assuming what I got was actual opium but It looks like light tan crystals or rocks (light shines through it). I know opium is pretty much only black and putty-like so it's got me a little confused. Anyone ever heard of the stuff before? I'm pretty curious

the thing is though, I pretty much solely smoke hash now. so I've had shatter before and this doesn't resemble it one bit. This stuff is hard as a rock. And I've actually dabbed it too. It melts down just like the hash will, but it seems to do so at a higher temperature. It's getting me high but I can't figure out anything on it. Here's a picture of a gram

I've no idea what it is. Opium can be crystallized, but I have no experience with it.

It's certainly not morphine though.

I don't think anyone can tell you for sure, although it is interesting.

(I've never seen or heard of opium that wasn't black, the alkaloids, I'm not so sure, but morphine is the main one anyway so I have no clue what that is.)

I had something similar to what you are describing awhile back, but it was more of a gray color, it was ROCK fucking hard too, I could not even break a small point off it, had to use of those little screw clamps to file it down into powder, then smoked it...it was really good, from one point, I got like 7 hits before it was totally burnt up.

When you smoked it, did you notice ANY of the normal Heroin taste, bitter, kind of sweetish taste/smell?

I've never tried heroin before so I couldn't tell you. The taste is sort of plastic-y but not really bad or strong. Maybe I could call it bitter but it seems like but there's no sweetness.

All "white rock opium" seen has been fake. Usually myrrh IIRC.

Crystalline opium extract is far from opium and rarer than hens teeth.

All I could think of is placebo or maybe a dried cold water extract.

See if a small amount dissolves in water and also try tasting a little bit. Should be quite bitter.

I' surprised Sekio hasn't commented. Granted, even he could likely only speculate, but he is the one person here who might have a reasonable idea of what it is.

But yeah, it's unlikely it's actually crystalline opium!!!

If your still feeling relaxed and "mellow" than I'd say your good! amiright? ahahaha

Whatever it is it seems cool, too bad (well not too bad actually, but for the case of hypothetical situation too bad) you're not an addict so you could tell if it was opium simply by if you were sick or not.

Have fun feeling somethin' off some cool shit! hahaha make sure not to do too much at a time though since you don't know what it exactly is, always be careful with unknown substances.
