I did this years ago for a psychology class. The assignment was to pick out a psychological issue from a list that our instructor provided, research it, and present it to the class. I picked addiction and decided to make the presentation a little more personable by sharing about my meth addiction and my mother's gambling addiction. I was scared going into it, but got through it as I knew that I most likely would never see any of these people again after the class was over. I was one of the first few people to present and after I did, other people decided to share their own struggles in their presentations as well. Sharing something so personal was something that I needed to do at the time and it felt extremely liberating to get it out. I had a few people even come up to me after and tell me that they admired me for doing it. My instructor pulled me aside and commended me for it and hugged me as well. Sharing that with strangers was something that made me feel strong and I have no regrets about it at all.
Best of luck with this. Let us know how it goes.
