Positive Share Something Positive About Your Day vs This Does Not Suck (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)?

I've been lost for yonks. I don't think it gets any easier, but it does become a new normal at some point.

OT: I took off a door to bring more light in, fixed a showerhead so it gives a nice powerful spray again, and cooked a tasty 450g (1lb) steak dinner with mushroom and peppercorn sauce plus roast veggies + sweet potato.

@Larimar, thank you. My son's shrine brings me a lot of comfort. It really does feel like a room I can go to to talk with him. My son was cremated and there is no grave so there is no place like that in the material world. I also remember how my heart, broken as it was, filled with gratitude when I learned of his shrine's existence from my other son.

Your parrots sound amazing. I hope you take videos of them. I have read the book about Alex and also watched a documentary about him. They truly are amazing creatures. The best talkers I ever heard though were a pair of mina birds owned by my little 3rd grade boyfriend's mother in east Texas. They copied her gossipy phone conversations--obviously one sided as well as her exact voice drawling, "C'mon in!" whenever the doorbell rang or someone knocked. She was so embarrassed about the gossip but the two birds would go back and forth with it. "No! She did? Really? I can't believe it! What a witch!"=D=D=D

My word for today: excited!

He died because my dad passed away I think he literally died of a broken heart....

Today I decided that I won't let my shitty current situation make me cancel the appointments for getting an epic tattoo in two months (at least for now) and so I wrote the artist a detailed description of how I imagine it so he can make a first draft. Doesn't make me as excited as it should, but it's definitely something positive. :)
 
Yesterday I went to a club in where musicians try to perform something out of their normal comfort zone and I ended up performing some Johnny Cash songs such as I Walk the Line and The Man Comes Around and actually I didn?t suck at it although it was my first time ever doing man and a guitar thing or singing that style.

I guess I have matured or atleast gainer some life experience to be able to sing Johnny Cash without it sounding bad or pretentious.

I think I might start doing my own country songs someday as it was fun and I know I can handle guitar enough to accompany myself with it while singing stuff about life.
 
Yeah I guess the life experience counts more than how you play your guitar when it comes to country music :)

Tokezu, what kind of tattoo you have in your mind? I have been thinking of getting my first for few years and I have decided that I want a cog mechanicus, a cyborg kind of skull that has some serious meanings that I like in warhammer 40k universe.

It's going to be a somewhat complex variation of a popular motif, the eye in the pyramid, in the form of a comic landscape wrapping around my lower leg. That skull looks pretty cool, I can definitely imagine it as a tattoo.
 
I had another good experience using meditation to calm racing anxiety. Rapidly spiralling towards panic but was able to get away from it via deep breathing and attempt to empty the mind. Felt so nice coming down from that.

That's fantastic, swillow. Breathing usually does it for me. I never seem able to willfully empty my mind (but being the space case that I am it regularly does that on its own!;)) but the act of trying to do so (consciously focusing on both the arrival and departure of thoughts) has a very settling effect on me.
 
I didn't win any money on the Superbowl and I'm completely good with that.

I won employee of the year today for 2017! :) It comes with a $2000 bonus. Made my day! And tomorrow is my yearly performance review and I am going to tell them they should promote me to the role I already fill (that I sort of invented). I do way more than other people in my job position, they even put me in charge of a client which is odd for a programmer. Anyway I deserve a promotion and raise and since they so kindly told me how they'd be screwed without me, I'm going to apply just a little pressure. :) I love my job and the people I work with, but it can't hurt to put a little fear into them that I might become dissatisfied unless they reward me appropriately.
