A shadow passed over me today
To torment me, to make me pay
For the lust I have for drugs
It told me 'you don't deserve love'

A shadow passed over me today
With me it wants a game to play
It's with me as I rot in bed
It wants me sad, it wants me dead

A shadow passed over me today
There wasn't much that I could say
I knew it had my hands in ties
I know it's raining in my skies

A shadow passed over me today
A shadow that is doomed to stay
Until the day my soul's at rest
That's how it feels to be depressed

you have a unique and startling ability to create some wonderful and astonishing piece using such simple formulas. Well done, you have done it again.

thank u - i wrote that piece wen id dropped my antidepressant dosage last week and got a nasty surprise
it made me poetic tho i spose :\

I like the reiteration of the first line. It reminded me almost of a childs lullaby, i felt a sense of shock coupled with an innocent exploration of self. All held together with impenatrable sadness that only the aforementioned things could drive home. well done.
