Shaboo @ Schoolies?

Hey, anyone hear the report on JJJ this arvo about a drug called Shaboo?
According to the QLD Press it's a new drug and it's going to be used extensively at Schoolies Week.
Of course, when they actually spoke to the Jacks about it they found out it was just a street name for a form of methamphetimine which has been around for ages. Not like the media to portray a false image of drugs and drug use, is it?
But what I want to ask is what exactly is it? I've never heard that name used before. Is it just Brizzy slang for something we all know ( and love

)?

no, its japanese slang actually. "shabu" is a name for smokable dextromethamphetamine, also known as "ice".
it is different from crystal meth, which is Crystal methamphetamine hydrochloride.
but that said, sometimes these names get swapped around on the street...

I heard it on JJJ too, and as JB said, it's just ice, but who knows what names people are using for what these days...
I heard a few years back about this "deadly" shabu, and that there was gonna be trouble when it got around... then nothing happened, at least nothing I heard about...

i tried shaboo last night, smoked it in this little glass pot thingy, that i put a aliminium straw into, very smooth, very relaxing yet chargy, made me want to talk, didnt effect my eyes, felt great. this phillipino guy, gave it to me. he said its equal with pot over there.

JB : I haven't heard many japanese people using the term shabu, i *think* in japanese shabu-shabu refers to a steamboat meal thing. Which has lead to some weird convos with my mum about "shabu shabu"
