Severe Frostbite

Okay, after an alch. induced adventure left me with severe frostbite on my right foot, I decided it was time to cop some pain killers. Got 20 5mg vicodin on Mon., and just got back with 6 perc.'s Six??!! Oh yeah, and I also got a shot of demerol which is nice. I told the doc I was taking 2 vic's every 4 hours and it wasn't helping. He wanted to give me vicodin ES or something but after an excllent scene I got the perc's and the shot. My question is, how much further can I take this? I am in REAL pain, but the perc's work fine. Here is what I was thinking: I go back on Fri, and I could tell him the perc's aren't cutting it! What is next after perc.'s? Any suggestions? Any help would be appriciated, I wanna get the most out of this that I can considering I may be losing a few toes!!
 
Personally I think you went as far as you could go. He already bumped up your script once. THe next thing he would do for you if he was so inclined would be to increase your perc dose. But as the days go on, your pain should lessen, and it will be even harder to get anymore. BTW I cant belive he only gave you 6 perc's, seems like a fucked up number especially so early in the week. You wouldnt have enough to last. What you could do is call him in the morning say the percs work fine but your running out because you need them to sleep and during the day.
 
there's a bit of semantics involved here, but you will see that what i have to say makes sense.
do not say that you need them to sleep. this is addict talk.
do say that you are having trouble staying asleep because of the pain, ie you can only sleep an hour or two at a time.
 
ok, that is what I told him about the vic.'s! I told him that I barely slept at all because of the pain. He told me that in the next couple of days that the pain could actually get worse! (and it is!) I guess I am supposed to see a surgeon in a week, to see about my toes. If anyone has ever been frostbitten badly, it sucks! My question is do you think I have reached the limit? So you don't think he will go any higher than perc.'s? Yeah, I think they are supposed to last me 2 days. It says 1 every 6 hours along with 3 motrin 800 a day. Bye the way, they are 5/325 perc.'s. I have taken 2 in 6 hours, they aren't very strong! The demerol shot was very nice and it worked quite well. Is there demerol in a pill form? Thanx for the replies...
 
yes, demerol does come in a pill form. a friend of mine from college had a few 50mg pills left over from getting her wisodm teeth out (generous oral surgeon, eh?). i had the pleasure of railing 100mg worth but didn't feel too much, but then again i'm not much one for pills/painkillers anyway.
 
dont go into it trying to cop pills just tell him your doing what he says but it still fucking hurts..... if hes not sure have him refer you to a pain specialist, your foots frozen man! your not a scripter!
 
As long as you have a good, visible wound - you will score, and he is correct, with burns (frost or heat induced) the pain will get worse, unlike other forms of pain where the hurt will diminish over time - still, you don't have long at all, because you will begin to "feel better" (and the wound will look better) .. if you're seeing an ER doctor then you're only going to cop a days worth of pills or so (hence the 6) .. so you should make an appointment with a specialist that can get you on some long-term medication ... as for where you can go - say you have to take two and you might get Percocet 10mg's (you can get away with this ONLY when you have visible wounds, otherwise NEVER admit to taking more then prescribed) ..

I personally would have gone for a full script of Vike ES instead of 6 5 mg percs. According to literature and opioid equianalgesia charts (can't provide links offhand, just going from memory) oxy is 1.5 times as potent as hydro, so you would still get the same analgesia from the vike ES as from the percs, "with C III convenience" (as the lortab ad put it.)

Just got back with my script for 30 10mg percs! Hehe, I also got another shot of demerol! Damn, ok, I was thinking... go in tomorrow and tell him the pain is getting worse and I would like to see a pain spcecialist? This is kinda fun but it does fuckin hurt! Oh well, I am damn happy with these percs! Thanx
 
Well since the frostbite is on your foot I think you can push this a little further. Talk to the doc or a specialist and emphasize how your job or personal life demands a lot of walking. Of course this is going to make your foot hurt more and the doctor might be more sympathetic to someone that HAS TO stay on their feet all day. Play it for what its worth. Just a suggestion. You got Percocet 10mg #30, I wouldn't push it much further - work on getting more per day, for instance, say that you take one of those and it takes away all the pain, but within 3 or 4 hours you find yourself wanting to take your next one ... if your doctor continues to be this cool, then tell him how swell he is being and how comfortable you are with him (doctors love that) .. he has shown he is obviously willing to manage your pain better then most doctors, so don't ASK for a referal until he begins to try and get you off the stuff...
And amputation only gets you PK's for a very short while - about like any other surgery, you get a few days supply of good shit then weak shit for another week or so... of course the good thing with amputation is that you can almost always cop a lifetime of benzos or something, because of the severe emotional trauma you suffer..
You're doing good man! You got the right meds, right dose, so just keep trying to go for a little more frequent (assuming you only get 4/day or q6h dosing) ..
BTW, I think we all want to hear the story of HOW you got this frostbite...
 
That is just what I was gonna ask. If more people read this then everyone's gonna want frostbite....

After a night of heavy drinking, my friend and I decide it's time to go for a drive. (he lives way out in the woods - no cops). So, we are about 10 miles from his house and he crashes into a snowbank - no biggie. But, we are also very drunk! He says he knows a snowmobile trail that goes to his house and it is in the woods so no prob! After walking for a while, my friend gets sick, lays down, and refuses to move. Considering I don't have a fucking clue where we are, I commence calling him bad names and making fun of his mom as to motivate him. Finally, he gets up and three hours later we arrive at his house. (after getting lost in a swamp, falling in the water, and generally having a shitty time.) The whole time my feet were getting wetter and colder and number(I was wearing tennis shoes) and the only thing I could do was push on. By the time we got home, I couldn't feel my feet and they were covered in blood. (this all took place between 4am-8am) So I go to the hospital, they all tell me i'm an idiot, and I get pain relievers! Lesson learned - DON"T DRINK AND DRIVE! Yeah, I am going in again tomorrow (Fri) for therapy and hopefully more pain pills. Thanks for all the input, as I am now up to 2 10mg Percs every 4 hours! Damn strait! Opiates are my new favorite drug!!!!!!!!!!

How is the wound doing? Perhaps you should cut it open and rub some feces into it to get it nice and infected... actually, load up some black-tar into a rig, making sure you're as sloppy as you can be and that lots of particles are in the final solution... now, inject under the skin of your foot - you wil not only cop a real, nice buzz, but you get INSTANT SWELLING ..

Now girls, don't even think about this because what good would you be to the male population if your feet were all scared up? Sure, you would get some PK's for a short while, but so many men with that fetish (a sick and twisted fetish it is!) would find you "damaged goods" ...

A couple of years ago here it was minus 25. That's minus 25 centigrade, around 50 below in Farenheit. I was getting of a tram far out of town in an industrial suburb (no housing for a couple of miles in any direction). Saw this middle aged drunk guy stumbling around. It was obvious that he'd just pissed his pants! At 50 below!!!
I sometimes wonder what happened to that guy. I'm guessing it must have ended in amputation....
But can you imagine the drugs that he could have got if he was a scripter!
