serotonin syndrome safety question

i'm used to taking kratom daily, and was going to try to get on Antidepressant's to see if they helped at all. At around 4pm central today i took 50mg sertraline, 75mg hydroxyzine, as well as 50mg hydroxyzine the previous day around the same time. the sertraline has me yawning and feeling really weird, and i regret taking it. for the sake of my own stability I need to just get back to using kratom when i need to.


i'm wondering how many hours after taking these meds should i be good to take more Kratom?

I’d highly doubt you’re at risk of serotonin syndrome mixing kratom with an SSRI. SS risks tend to be massively overblown, potentiation tends to be the primary issue because it can lead to overdose. I’ve done essentially every drug imaginable (bar DXM and MDMA which likely would’ve been disastrous) on an irreversible MAOi, which is far riskier than an SSRI, and have not gotten serotonin syndrome once. This isn’t justification or a recommendation by any means, I just think there are bigger fish to fry than SS risks.

but if I took my last kratom dose over 24h ago
and my last dose of hydroxyzine 24h ago, does it still potentiate the kratom?

Not sure exactly what you mean, but if you dose kratom 24h after taking hydroxyzine there may be some potentiation as hydroxyzine has a very long half life, but that would just be because of opioid + antihistamine potentiation, not from serotonin at all. I really doubt it’d be noticeable.

Only real reasons i know of serotonin syndrome happens pharmacologically is mixing SSRIs and or maois and or serotonin releasers

I'm just scared that chronic use up until about 12h before I took the single dose of Sertraline, might have increased the amount of sertraline actually in my system
