Seroquel/Quetiapine question

I take seroquel at two doses 200 mgs at night and 2x25mgs twice a day. I find at the lower dose of 50 mgs it acts as a good anti anxiety and opiate potenator!! I would say around 100 mgs it acts more of a antiphychotic action and less a anthistamine anti anxiety and potenator of opiates. so yeah round about 100mgs of seroquel i find through personel experience!

It didnt even touch DOI, 25mg did nothing, 100mg did nothing except mild sedation, 200mg did nothing more, 300mg gave me RLS with mild-moderate sedation (enough to stop me getting out of bed) It turned from a horrible trip to a horrible trip stuck in bed with RLS.

That's weird, the affinity is similar to DOI, in the ball-park at least, and depending on how it was measured. So it should be more than capable of inhibiting the effects of DOI, especially at those doses.

I've wanted to try mixing a selective 5-HT2A antagonist with various psychedelics to see what remains, since I read somewhere (I guess it was Vollenweider) that prior administration of ketanserin mostly blocks the effects of psilocybin...

sorry about that; MDD is major depressive disorder

...for like 6 months. It was less stupefying than olanzapine, but it still dulled my thought process and killed my originality & creativity (like hitting the mute button on the music of the skull, which is why I discontinued it as I was writing for a living back then).

I don't find olanzapine to be stupifying at all oddly enough. I have taken 20mg's in a day to bring me down from a manic or mixed episode. I have to take atleast 300-400mg's of seroquel for about a week before it does much of anything.

Maybe i just have a high tolerance to anti-psychotics i dunno.

I was on 200mg of Seroquel nightly, used as an anti-psychotic and a sleep aid for Bipolar Disorder. Taking that much would knock me out within 10-20 minutes. Talk about living life as a zombie. :|

When I took Olanzapine, I felt like I didn't take anything. Like a placebo.

For Seroquel, 25-100 mg at night, puts me to sleep, which is good. I think it's better than Ambien for sleep, although Seroquel sometimes make me sleep longer (can be solved by an alarm clock).

for sleeping after stim (miss)use get some doxylamine or diphenhydramine those are only anti-histamines and OTC (and a lot cheaper)

doxylamine for example knocks me out at 10mg and what is written on wiki is also impressive "One study found that doxylamine succinate was more effective than the barbiturate phenobarbital for use as a sedative"

I have taken several antipsychotics (1st and 2nd generation) : zyprexa(olanzapine),seroquel, solian and haldol(the worse by faaaar, this drug should be banned, ultimately horrible). Seroquel seems to be the best, most effective and lighter(less side-fx) for me. I am taking 800mg(2x400) on a daily basis , I also drink enough (4-5 beers) at times and I can still maintain alertness and being awake. I usually want to sleep around 10hours to feel I slept enough though. Also check some of my questions here :

In my opinion, I think Seroquel is stronger/better than Doxylamine or Diphenhydramine.

Which seroquel dose is the most sedating?

25 mg
50 mg
75 mg
100 mg
