Yes a drug test CAN detect for anabolic steriods, but question is will they test for it? Which in the case of probation, is generally, no.
The Texas State Probation System generally tests for the following:
Cannabinoids
Amphetamines
Cocaine
Phencyclidine (PCP)
Opiates
Methaqualone
Benzodiazepines
I have the exact list including the nanogram cutoff levels posted on another message board that is down right now, I can post a link to it later(I did a lot of research before I pissed)
Also, you might recieve a stick test rather than them sending your specimen to a lab, which is much better, it tests for less drugs, variable results etc etc...(Keep in mind, this is for Texas State, I haven't been on probation anywhere else)...
I believe the detection for Anabolic Sterios runs something like 2 weeks for an oral dose, and up to one month if taken parenterally (like IV/IM)...
So to conclude, chances are your probation will not test for steriods, yes it IS possible, and if they do test for it, it will show up, and you are pretty much fucked...

"Rock and roll adolescents storm into the streets of all nations. They rush into the Louvre and throw acid in the Mona Lisa's face. They open zoo's, insane asslyums, prisons, burst water mains with air hammers, Chop the floor out of passanger plane lavatories, shoot out lighthouses, turn sewers into the water supply, administer injections with bicycle pumps. They shit on the floor of the United Nations and wipe thier ass with the treaties, pacts, alliances."
