Serious opiate withdrawal question...

whatsup fellow bluelighters....was gone for a while but now im back...anyways....me and my roomate lately have been partaking some some roxy fun... personally ive dabbled in opiates for a while. i am the opposite of an addictive personality, so i can go on binges like nothing happened...my roomate on the other hand didnt know how to stop...i still have a tolerance of about 30-45 miligrams for a good time, while over a month his went to 60 mg, which he was doing everyday for about a month...basically a light in his head clicked that something was wrong so 2 days ago he stopped cold turkey...basically what im asking is how bad will the withdrawals be for 45-60 mg...he cant sleep, had hotflashes/chills, shitting all the time....basically miserable...i want to help him through it but i have no idead what it entails....and no big dick oh man i wish i had that low of a tolerance again...maybe you should take a look at why you dont anymore...

Basically what he's feeling now is all the symptoms of withdrawals, they'll last about a week at their worst point and then start easing. That doesn't mean they'll suddenly dissapear but they'll get easier. Assuming your friend can handle them without getting addicted some benzos and benadryl will help also gabapentin if you can get it.

It will be easier after the first 3 days or so. After that it "should" be easier on him. It is somewhat different depending on the person. For me (I use to do heroin) the first 3 days were always the hardest to tough through. After that it still sucked for about a week maybe a little less. The chills ended for me usually on the 3rd or 4th day but the sleeplessness lasted for most of the week. I never really got a bad case of the shits though that just never happened to me I dunno why. If anything I just went from being constipated all the time to shitting normally again. I did pee a lot though, and my sex drive returned with a vengeance. Seriously felt like I was having a hard on all the time.

I'd say after a full week from the day he stopped he should start feeling like his old self again. He will still feel like shit but not as bad as the first week and he will almost certainly have a powerful urge to use again.

But again that is just my experience.

my question is also...he is depressed and has anxiety issues...and i feel imo that he is exasperating some of the symptoms by worrying so much about it...could this be possible?

^It is normal IMO to be depressed while withdrawing from opiate use. Hell every time I was in withdrawal I wanted to fucking die. There really isn't much one can do to feel better when you are withdrawing IMO. It helps to have a friend though and it seems that he has that in you. Just stick by him and talk him through some of that depressing shit. Watch movies with him or something, play some video games. Just try and get his mind off the fact that he is in an incredible amount of pain. Above all remind him that the pain WILL eventually pass.

go to the local headshop and get a him some kratom. its not a cure, but will certainly help the nausea, sweats, and even allow him to sleep a bit. getting through those first 3 hell days is a bitch, but after that it becomes easier to deal with... i speak from experience.
