I have read many many threads / articles / etc online about how to extract fenatnyl from the gel and from the gel patches and have yet to successfully extract the fentanyl from the gel. For the sake of making this thread useful for myself and others in the future I will stick with one method at a time and focus on the problems I am having with it.
I have about 5-6 used patches right now with a decent amount of gel still left in them, I take them off after two days because once they start to come off and don't stick properly, they just don't deliver the drug much anymore, so I figure it would be best to take them off and conserve gel for another type of use. I want to get the fentanyl out of the gel and into a dry, crystal form that I see mentioned so often so I can either snort it, or mix with small amount of water and make nasal spray, but mainly to snort.
I purchased some stuff from the grocery store called "Pure Lemon" that has citric acid, asorbic acid, and a few other things in it that don't really matter. From what I have read this should woirk fine for turning the fent in the gel to fent citrate and the other few ingredients are fine since I won't be injecting.
So what I did was take a shot glass, put some water in the shot glass, added a bit of pure lemon (citric acid), and then cut open one fentanyl patch and put two large globs of gel inside. I heated for a bit, mixed around, but the gel was still globbed up inside the water, so I let it sit for awhile. I would come back and stir occasionally and after a day or so (yes I let it sit this long), the gel globs seemed to break up better. Next I put the solution on a clear plate, then sat that plate on top of a crockpot set on warm while having a fan blow on it. IT seemed to be working nicely, but then when I took a razor to everything it was sticky and contained gel that would not dry.
This also happened in all the other methods I have tried for extracting, including using 91% iso and used patches (without any gel left in them), there is NEVER dry crystals left, there is always a layer that looks like it could be dry but it always is gelatin like. How do I separate the active fentanyl from the gel completely so I can completely dry and have none of that goop left?? It's driving me crazy. I have been trying to get this right for a long time but none of the guides address the fact that there is always gel in the solution and this can't be scraped up like a dry crystal. How are these people getting the gel away from the active drug and water so that it can be dried and used as a powder or what have you?
