Sense of touch and heat research wins Nobel Prize

Now the latest pandemic news: State health officials are sending educators into schools to warn that the warmth of the sun or the hug of a loved one still too dangerous for at risk populations and restrictions will remain in place indefinitely

A professor in my grad school had a project under her on pain biosensors. I always thought it was a joke. Then they give the prize in chemistry today for something that befits big pharma. It's time for a competitor prize, but it needs funding. Ha. Anyway, they used to give it to people like Einstein or Pauling. Those are good ones. Now it's all about pushing a story or secret agenda of the nobel committee rather than anything of principle.

This above my pay grade I'm afraid but apparently a big deal i.e. apparently can be important when it comes to the development of new pharmaceuticals.

"Two scientists have been awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their work on building molecules that are mirror images of one another. German-born Benjamin List and Scotland-born David MacMillan were announced as the winners at an event in Stockholm.:

I compare it to giving Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart an oscar for bad acting.
Dwayne Johnson is a good actor.

He convinces many that he's a lovely smiley guy, who surely cares about humanity.

Despite hailing Satan on camera in plain sight.

Tom Hanks is admittedly a better actor. This is what actors do. It's their real role.

Deceit, nothing really at all to do with entertainment. Hollywood blockbuster I mean and beyond.

I have mixed feelings about all these big prizes when I see like Donald Trump being proposed for the Nobel prize of peace. Fuck.

Yeah but the nobel peace prize isn't a "real" nobel prize. It is kind of arbitrary and very politically motivated, a bit of a joke tbh (not to say that there aren't some worthy peace prize laureates).
Obama, Al Gore and even Jimmy Carter won it as well.
Trump's meeting with Kim Jong-un in North Korea was pretty historical though, I don't know if it's worthy of a nobel prize but I guess it's something.
