Opioids Self medicating with codeine, am I making a mistake?

Well the big scare for doctors these days is all the hype about abuse potential. They are scared shitless they will lose their licenses if they prescribe anything worthwhile. It is likely the very last thing you will get prescribed will be something that has abuse potential. Medicine has become all about self preservation for the Dr's rather than actually helping the patient, at least in my experience. Unless you have physical pain, then it's open season.

Fuck modern psychiatry.
