If someone takes a small dose of benzodiazepines ONCE every 2/3 weeks just to feel in complete comfort with themselves. + has been doing so for a fairly long period of time.
Would such a person be able to do the same thing with 'weak' opiates. Ie. 90mg's codeine + be able to maintain the absolute self control as with the benzos?

It all depends on you. Some people get addicted to benzos and others to opiates.

I can control myself with either. Even tho I no longer find benzos recreational anymore.

If you can truely stick to ONCE every 2-3 weeks then go for it.

They're both addictive. Benzos are addictive in a sneaky way.

Some people can handle only doing them once or twice a month, the less often you do them and more time you put between dosing makes it easier.

This is a purely speculative and subjective thread, from now on I'm going to close the 'will I get addicted" threads.

The answer is, unless you have legendary self control, for which is definitely worthy of an award or a medal or trophy, etc, most people are going to have their self-control severely tested and pushed to the limit over time. If you can use a drug responsibly, infrequently, and without problems in the long-term that's just great for you, however most people are going to run into trouble at some point or another, how sooner rather than later varies on a case by case basis.

I feel like these threads give people a false sense of security, "oh if I stick to dosing only on weekends, etc, I won't get addicted." And come on, that's the same exact type of thinking (called rationalization) that got most of us seasoned addicts where we are today.
