Ever turned the sound on the TV off and just browsed the channels watching ppl talk to each other? People don't freakin *do* much, they just hang out and talk (/think) a lot... it's weird when you pay attention to it.
The Internet is the perfect reflection of the human tendency to sit around and talk/think mostly for the sake of talking and thinking. And I don't think there's anything "loser-ish" about it... it's utterly commonplace and human. We are a very dreamy species.
"Spiritual Enlightenment" has been said to be "seeing the dream as dream". And what is 'behind' and 'beyond' our seemingly endless dreaming? A timeless, spaceless flow of actuality, without genesis or conceivable aftermath, of which our relational dreams of subject/object are mere aspects we like to pretend are separate somehow from direct/immediate perceiving and Being -- but are not.
We're all wrapped up in our emotive time-space fantasies. "I haven't seen you in a long time, you live far away... I miss you". Thought thinks it's you, back there in the past and so far away -- when it's really only itself, right here and now. Seen for what it is, what was taken as "reality" dissolves into dream, and actuality stands out with an inconceivably vivid brightness and solidity. One is still free to dream, but the dream is now a dream.
