Seedling problems

So I got a few seedlings that just seem to keep dying after a few days of normal growth. They appear to be healthy then all of a sudden the leaves will start to curl on the edges and dry out. Only one has managed to stay alive and start growing a second set of leaves, but it is start to have its leaves point upward and appear to shrink a small amount in size. The seedlings are getting enough water, but not to much. They are given water when ever the first inch or so of soil becomes dry. I'm thinking it could possibly be from the heat? There is a fan in the room, but I don't have AC, I just rely one a few fans around the home. A ventilation hole is being put into place to hopefully combat the heat if it is a problem. I haven't fed, or put nutrients into the soil yet. I plan on using urine at my source of nutrients during vegging. Should i use a real diluted solution of urine to give them a very small amount of nutrients (way more diluted than if I were to start a normal veg nutrient routine)?

btw, I'm running CFLs with ~4000 lumans per sq foot, which I guess is a bit much. Might take two out right now during their time as little babies. The room is around 2.5 sq feet with a lot of height (feet). I guess I could also just raise the light a little higher?

leaves pointing up is good, means they are reaching to the light and growing good.
maybe the light is far too close. have the fan actually on them at the lowest setting.

dont use your pee for nutes, its not a good idea.
just go to a garden centre and buy some. tomato feed nutes work too.
your piss will not provide them with the correct amount of nutrients a cannabis plant needs, and during this REALLY early stage they shouldnt even be on nutes anyways.

Everywhere I've looked has said urine is a very good source of nutes. On the NPK scale it is equivalent to many commercial ferts. Its not good for flowering, but for vegging it should work great. It has high levels of nitrogen with some K and P to go along with it. I'm gonna do a bit more research before I fully decide on my ferts though. I've posted on a few more forums to get some opinions

I've raised up the lights a bit and took one of them out of the socket. Vent holes have also been put in to place in case the heat is causing some problems.

Yes they are bag seeds. I wanted to try a simple grow before I shop around for some seeds. I should be getting some master kush clones a bit later into the summer.

Urine can be used, but like all nutrients needs to be mixed into water first. Directly pissing on your plant will most likely kill it over time.

Go out and buy some real plant food though. Your grow box is gonna stink if you dont :o

Do you know the temps in your grow box?

Throw some pictures up, alot easier for us to help you.
 
You shouldn't really be giving any nutrients to a seedling. The nutrients in the soil should be good enough until it has its first few sets of leaves. It sounds like your problem here could be humidity. Seedlings will have much higher survivablility rate if you increase the humidity.
 
+1 for no pee... I've heard of people using urine (very diluted) with some positive results (actually i think Ed even mentions it at one point) but most growers I've read posts from or talked to have said the risks do not out weigh the benifit at all. Clover has a high N content; you can blend it with water then sift out the particles, mix with more water and spray them. No nute for a while though...

As far as dying seedlings go I am sorry :(
This happened to me and it ended up being a really bad infestation (I got soil at superstore, fucking contaminated to hell) in the soil... had to scrap it, sterilize the whole room etc.

Sounds to me like either you are drowning them with too much water (using urine is just plain dumb ..yes it is possible..but pissing on your plants will not work..either way there is seriously no point. If you are gonna grow weed spend fucking 10 dollars on some nutrients for your plants).

But I think either you are giving too much water OR you are usin some type of fertilizer/seed starter soil.

You should use any ferts for the 1st 2 weeks.

Also, do you have a golden shower fetish by any chance? Can't really see why else you'd have a boner for pissing on your weed.
 
Too much heat, do you know the temp your growing in?
And I would reccomend getting some time of nutes other than urine,
 
lol. depending on your diet (the stoner munchie potato chip diet no doubt) your urine is incredibly high in salt, which will kill all freshwater plants in short order.
