Even if cali does legalize marijuana the rest of the US will still be stuck on the same stoopid laws. I honestly don't see our current government doing anything positive for this cause.
rest of usa states see the billions racked in & realize legalizing could patch the rut wall st. left us in & will follow suit. Right now its Massachutes & cali considering legalization & obama telling mexico "DONT LEGALIZE MARIJUANA- DRUGS ARE BAD!!"

Just sayng this as an outsider, an aussie i am. Cali seems to the be smartest, take no shit truest Americans there are.

As a someone born in California, and raised in Australia, I can say this is partly true. Definitely 100% so for San Francisco and northwards, but southern and especially central California are actually some of the most backward, conservative parts of America I know of (when you view the population as an average of the whole). Even LA is not as liberal as one might think, observing from the outside.

There are pockets of what you describe in LA and San Diego, but they are only small pockets.

This does sound like encouraging noise but let's not be hasty in what we think may happen now...

Tbh, I can't see America - and here I'm talking about Federal law - going from its present position where marijuana is considered by Federal Authorities (DEA, FBI etc) to be a Schedule I drug, to decriminalising or even legalising it.

Wouldn't it be more realistic to be campaigning for its reclassification as a Schedule II, III or IV medication? Less of a huge leap for the easily-panicked authorities to take if you get my drift.

Just my 2c....
