i think i'm gonna take online corses at the santa rosa junior college untill me myl dad or my g pa get a car i'm just so freaked out that i won't be able to focus so i'm gonna ask my psychiatrist for some adderall

that's a great idea; i just went back to school after being a junkie for a few years and working shit jobs. It's completely changed my life and attitude around. I feel hopeful and excited for the future rather than wishing the world would end and i'd have an endless supply of drugs to tranquilize myself with.

i'd give your classes a shot first without adderall and see how it goes. Adderall is going to make anyone focus and do better in school but the side effects in general aren't worth it IMO. Then again if i had access to script i'd probably use it. I use kratom to focus and it works pretty well for me.

i recently went back to school myself (this week) for addictions counselling, and already im feeling happier.

give it a try first before you seek chemical assistance, you may not need it.

I think it's wonderful that you're going to be going back to school mrflowers. I know for me getting back into school made a huge difference in my depression and my mood all around.

I agree with the above though and suggest that you try it without stims first. When I first went back I just started with one class and then eased my way into more as time went on. It made my coursework much more manageable to me. Could something like that be an option for you at all?

well i was diagnosed with add or adhd when i was 10 and took adderall till i was 13 and i did good in school during that time i started to fuck up in school after that so i think the adderall is necessary

You are going to do fine! Online courses are a great way to get some of your general ed. courses out of the way. The workload will probably be less than you think and you will gain a sense of accomplishment. Good luck!

Go do it Mrflowers!!
I'm so glad to see that you are considering this :)
Don't let your nerves make you think you need uppers to get through school!
I believe you can do it by yourself :)

That's so great to hear! What will you be studying? Do you want to get a degree? Either way, that's totally awesome! I find school to be so helpful to me & I use studying as a coping method.

If you have or had ADD/ADHD then you *may* need medication, but I suggest trying to get through your studies first without it, just to see where you stand.

i take online courses... its hard as shit. good luck.

I agree, online courses require lots of self discipline and focus. I wish I had the self discipline to take online courses, so instead i do the traditional setting.

Flowers, you'll be great! :)

Don't bother with the adderall. It works in the short term but eventually you won't be able to get up in the morning, let alone function well if you continue taking it over the long term. It's just not worth it. And that's without the physical health problems too.

i'm worried cause i haven't been in school for over 5 years so i'm gonna be rusty as hell

Same for me when I went back. I definitely know how nerve wracking it can be to go back, but you're a smart guy and you have what it takes to do it.
