what has helped anyone with schizophrenia not hear the noises/voices that come from outside your head i've tried so many meds and so much therapy and i still constantly hear all this crazy shit and even though i try to ignore it it's so frequent and constant that it drives me nuts

i've actually worked with them and still no help as a matter of fact i'm the only one who has been able to help me

Unfortunately, not much helps IME.
I have no issue with auditory interference/hallucinations as a concept, it is when they encourage paranoid/delusional thought processes that I worry. Or if they are particularly traumatic/negative.

I can cope with neutral voices, random frequency noises and my kettle occasionally playing Techno whilst boiling. But overhearing plots on my safety, banshee screams and my window smashing whilst I try to decipher the musical kettle's secret messages to me - that's when I worry.

I actually consider myself very lucky in some aspects - I occasionally hear nonexistent music, ranging from my favourite rap songs to full scale symphonies of a completely novel form, in crisp detail. Sometimes there appears to be no source, but at other times it may be the fridge's buzzing that my brain is perceiving as musical.
Makes me wish I could write music.

There have been times that I could 'play' any song I could think of at will.
Was incredible.

Though a significant downside is that it's not always music I like - trying to sleep or converse with 'Eh Macarena' on repeat at 80 decibels becomes difficult. ;)

The first few musical hallucinations had me tearing my house apart for the source, though.
Also, asking my ex to be quiet while I listened 'to the rest of this album' was awkward.

Hello sweetheart. You're a trooper, bpoor baby. Do earplugs work at all? My mom lives with me, she's been suffering from schizophrenia for over 30 years. If I may ask, what meds do you take? Im just curious. .... My mom takes Trihexyphenidyl and Pluphenazine. Feel free to PM me anytime and STAY STRONG. ♡♥♡

Sincerely,
-Terri
