Schizophrenia/Psychosis and DXM

Hi I am diagnosed with schizophrenia and i am rather healthy at the moment and my symptoms are kept at bay with Seroquel(atypical anitpsychotic; Quetiapine).
But i have a large interest in psychoactive substances, mainly psychedelics.

I have aquired a couple of bottles of pure Dextromethorphan, and i am really looking forward to on trying it. BUT the problem is that im diagnosed with schizophrenia. I KNOW dxm got the potential of excaberating schizophrenia because it is an glutamate receptor antagonist(A contributing neurobiological factor for Schizophrenia/psychosis is chronic glutamate receptor antagonism). I do not need anyone tell me it got the potential to excaberate schizophrenia I KNOW. I have researched and researched on the web, but mostly the case reports I've seen where dxm has messed up their heads it has either been a temporary toxic psychosis, chronic dxm usage or it was unpure dxm.

So, I am really interested to see if anyone on this forum has struggled in the past with psychosis/shcizophrenia and if they could give me a retrospective how and if dxm has affected them. Any reports of pure dxm inducing long lasting(Longer than a week) psychosis or cognitive deficits would also be appreciated.

Thanks

well obviously you're aware of the psychological/pathological risks. I'm not immediately aware of any TRs of DXM use in schizophrenic people, but some may well exist. I'd check the trip reports section here on bluelight and the erowid experience reports.

Another thing you want to look at is medication contraindications. Dunno of any myself, but you should definitely look into it.

If you do decide to go through with this, I'd say start with a low-threshold dose. Try that, wait a week or so, see if there are any negative effects, then 7-10 days later, go a little higher. I'd continue with that plan until you find a dose you like or you have some negative symptoms

Good luck...and be careful. Maybe keep some xanax with you? I'm not sure how that interacts with anti psychotics.
