Scary Dilly experience

Dilly has a weird effect on me, so in my hospital records it states "Do not use Diluadid".

Last night, I had to make a trip to the E.R. because a medical condition had me in the fetal position for 2 hrs, no meds would give relief. Hell, I'd only taken 20mg of opana and that was in the AM.

After exam, IV fluids, the nurse comes in with a shot. She told me I'd feel better in minutes. I felt that spine burning, warm headrush, and I knew immediately she popped Dilly in my IV.

My monitor went off, I can't recall how long after...my heart rate dropped to 23! My blood pressure bottomed out. I felt as if I were smothering, couldn't breathed, pushed firecely near my heart out of fear.

The entire staff came in, I was out of it, but heard the Dr. say to the nurse " you could have killed her". One nurse comes running in and out, pops (EPI) another shot in my IV and within seconds, my heart rate jumped to 140. I felt like my spine was coming out of my asshole, seriously. I was sweating, cold, scared. Finally, after about 30 minutes, my vitals were near normal again.

The nurse didn't pay attention to the fine print, and almost killed me.
I'm home now, still shaky...like I took a 1000mg of adderal.

Anyone else have this reaction to Dilly? Scary shit...amazing I can take other drugs, oxymorphone in higher doses, but Dilly nearly kills me.

I have not heard of anyone having a reaction like that, but I dont have many Dilly experiences on a personal level. I do know that some people have enzyme deficiencies which can cause drugs to not be metabolized correctly, or with the most direct path, so adverse reactions can occur. Beyond those, which I am not even sure extreme sensitivity is among them, I can not comment.

Also the fact that Oxymorphone and Hydromorphone are so close in structure I doubt you could have issues with one and not the other but again I am not well versed in this area. Are you on any other meds? Sorry I cant provide additional information hopefully someone else will be able to, I am glad your ok though that sounds scary.

Thanks, Szuko.

I slept off and on all day yesterday.
I think you may be right, that my body can't metabolize the drugs .. via IV doses. I have no issues using opana via oral/nasal but with dilly, it messes with my heart rate via IV dose.. The only meds I had taken that day was 20mg of opana around 7am. No benzos, nada.
