Okay, ive been doing alot of reading on what nodding out really is..and now im kinda scared to enjoy it.. its memorial day..and i wanna relax and i just did a fat bag..and when i lay down.. I begin to nod out...not heavy nod but a decent one.. when should i be worried? i do a gram a day..so far im at half that..hurry!!! i wanna lay back down.. thanks ;)

chill , dont take doses too high above ur tolerance , u should be worried about it when ur barely breathing , sometimes when im nodding hard ill be like dont forget to keep breathing haha , mental reassurance .
I dont do more than i can handle..i got a new dealer tho..so that may be fueling my fear...but if im asleep/nodded out how would i know if breathing to slow/

u wont ... i can only tell when i snap out of the nod , then start slipping away again , ill take notice of my breathing , i havent ever been extremely fucked off my head on opiates though , im not sure how opiate OD works , whether its as soon as the peak happens and u stop breathing , or it happens when ur breathing decides to depress .

in my experience, you won't really know if you're ODing. either i'm in bliss, up down mmm dreamy, or wake up 30 min later lying on the floor. i don't know, i imagine IVing especially, you'll just die before you know what's going on.

so obviously, best to do it with someone present. who i used to with exploded in my face, friends who don't do drugs are cool with it but don't want to sit around me getting high, friends who do drugs don't do h and i don't want to do it in front of them, people i know who do h i don't want to sit around getting high with. need more friends.

^ Yeah listen to i against i. Knowing your limits and taking it steady is key, smoking (UK freebase h is designed for that really) or snorting, if you do it little bit at a time and gauge your response, is safer - but it is still playing with fire, all opiate users should remember that.. Don't mix with any other CNS depressants (benzos, alcohol etc). Safest to have someone with you too, definitely.

edit: ninja i against i ;)

Nodding is most opiate-head's goal but there is definitely a fine line and many people have crossed that line and are no longer here - as I said, learn to know your limits, be very careful, have someone there ideally and do not hesitate to call an ambulance if you are at all concerned.

Don't mean to freak you out at all, just want to keep you safe <3

smoking def safest and IMO funnest way. kick back, chase, chill. slowly slowly, but instant hit with each lungful, that taste. instead of "wooooommphhhh here we are!" of IV or "sssmmmuuphhh, don't feel anything, defo tastes like h tho" of snorting. and the "pfftttppp, oh god what am i doing i've got a syringe up my bum, this is just too odd, worse than when i did ass play with my ex" of plugging that has just never worked for me as i've always been too backed up or too errrm loose.

^ I agree entirely - last time I had it my mate pinned and I chased, and I enjoyed it more than he did! The process is fun and much safer. Although (HR disclaimer) it is still of course very possible to become addicted to smoking it; I know you know that i against i but like to make these things clear :)

Exactly what I was going to say. When I overdosed I didn't even know it, I just passed out and stopped breathing. If you are able to post on Bluelight you're probably fine. Generally people don't realize when they've overdosed, that's why it's a good idea to do everything you can to prevent that from happening and not use opioids when you are alone. What usually saves people in an OD is having a friend close by who sees that they are unconscious and their lips are turning blue and calls an ambulance. People aren't aware when they themselves have overdosed.

One thing you can do if you don't have someone you can use with or who you are comfortable using in front of is use in a bathroom where someone will check on you if you are gone too long. That way you don't have to tell them what you are doing but if you OD and pass out they will likely notice that you are have been gone a while and are not responding and do something. This could be a public bathroom (although then you run the risk of someone calling the cops if you OD - but better that than die) or it could be just that one of your friends or family is over at your place or you are at their's. You can even announce, "I'm going to the bathroom, back in 5 minutes" so that they will be more likely to notice if you don't come back in time. Or if you are really worried that they might not notice, you can say, "I'm feeling really sick, can you check on me in 10 minutes?" so that they will knock on the door if you aren't back in 10 minutes. If you're not finished using when they knock you can say "Yep, still sick, can you come back in 5 minutes?" or if you have overdosed then you won't reply when they knock and presumably they will come in to see if you're ok. Of course you probably won't want to use the faking sick tactic with the same person all the time because they might start getting concerned.

It's sort of like what they talked about in the Sopranos... about being whacked. Every once in a while.. they'd be having a conversation about someone getting killed and they'd ask one another if when it happened.. they'd see it coming or not. The verdict was generally no.... Ha. OD'ing is pretty much the same way.. you don't see it coming. It just happens. Wam. Bam. Thank you ma'am.

Swimmingdancer, I never understood how people could enjoy their expensive opiates in bathrooms. I mean, I want to be comfortable when I'm high. Relaxing on the computer chair, laying down in bed, chillin on the couch, sitting in the backyard, with an ice cold glass of water, speakers playing a playlist with the volume set low and the bass even lower.

I know it's safer from an HR perspective the way you put it, but why dangerously tread on the border of a heavy nod and death when you can just enjoy a slightly lower dosage without having to worry?

LOL, I didn't mean hanging out in the bathroom, I meant go do your drugs in the bathroom, then come out and do whatever you would normally do. Of course it's always best to have a lower dose, but people often OD by taking their regular dose, it's just maybe a different batch that is more potent, or they hadn't had any for a few days and their tolerance went down, and they went ahead and took their usual amount. No one plans to OD, so it's always ideal to be in a situation where someone would at least find you if you did accidentally OD.
