Saying Goodbye to Kratom. Any advice welcomed.

depends on the person, drug, and their will power. I've beat benzodiazepine (things like klonopin/valium) addiction a few times and when I was clean I could use a benzo once a month and not fall back into it. But once I had a big supply, I got completely addicted again... and again. Opiates and stimulants don't get a hold on me like that for some reason yet others can't resist them. I think there are too many variables involved to give any definite answer.

It's too easy to slip up once you've already been down that road, especially if life is stressful or you are self-medicating. I really don't know but be careful, especially with extracts. If you enjoyed them that much then it is a bad idea IMO. I just hate the whole permanent abstinence thing, you were addicted once, learned from that and shouldn't repeat the same mistake but in practice, it doesn't work like that, many people trick themselves into a reward only to lose it all again.

Some people are able to use return to less frequent use but it doesn't seem to be an approach for everybody. If this is what you decide to do then it may be best to go through a period of abstinence first and then see how you feel about it afterward. Moderation Management for moderating alcohol consumption asks people to complete 30 days of abstinence before attempting any controlled drinking. It's obviously a riskier approach and it is impossible to predict the outcome with certainty.

I apologize

I haven't read the thread entirely but if I were in your position I would wean slowly down from the UEI then perhaps jump to Enhanced Bali and slowly begin to switch to plain leaf Bali from a reliable source and work towards stabilizing yourself on plain leaf and then jump off if you desire. Plain leaf is pretty harmless stuff although it does have a bit of physical dependence it's nothing like UEI. I wish you the best and also suggest you search out the forum that is dedicated to this plant. You will receive a warm welcome as well as tons of helpful advice. I wish you the best of luck you definitely can do it in a way that is far from hellish.

that makes alot of since. Right now my mind doesnt make logical decisions when in comes to K, so I really needed to hear that. Thanks. Youre right, ive rewarded myself time and time again only to just start all over. Crazy how we think weve defeated something, when in all actualality, its working just like the devil does his prey. Thanks for your input, Its the level heads in here that remind me exactly wtf im tryiing to do. Seriously, thanks to all you. This is why I decided to share my experience, and after reading the last 4 or 5 replies, it actually stopped me from buying "just a little more". Really, Thanks

Oh btw, I went to work today, and it was very much a grind on my body, but I did it, and Im home now. I didnt die. I didnt lose complete control of my emotions, barely, lol. Heres to another day.

Hey man^^ sounds like the MENTAL parts of kratom and tramadol are what you're attracted to... your child should make it easier for you to cope with all this, cause its such a tremedous responsibility.... BUT if you really cannot go without something, maybe look into gettng on suboxone .... suboxone/buprenorphine is similar to tramadol and kratom in that it also affects the dopamineic / serotonigenic parts of your brain.. so it fills those "happy-er" opiod receptors in your brain. Kratom and tramadol are similar in that they are not full agonists like hydrocodone. Suboxone is also not a full agonist. Its cheap (relatively) and you could use it to rapid-detox w/o the horrid withdrawals, or go on maintenence for a number of months/years.

Loperamide for the first week. 30-50 mg or whatever you need. It's good for Kratom WDS cause Kratom is quite mild.

Loperamide + Lyrica/Neurontin

Withdrawals only last 5 days, but can drive you really psycho. Seems to make you more aggressive and anti-social than other opiates for some reason. Anyway, one week on that combo and you should be in the clear, but remember you'll still be mentally addicted to an Euphoric drug (that works as an antidepressant at the same time) for a long time. Don't replace it with Lyrica and don't use Lyrica when your pregnant! It has monstrous withdrawals that you don't want to put your baby through.
