    Welcome Guest!

Sassafras (mega-merged)

I wouldn't go consuming sassafras oil. It's carcinogenic as hell... :P

But as has been said, sassafras was - and appears still is - a nickname for mdma powder. MDMA went by that nickname in the eighties in the USA. It's most likely MDMA powder.

Thats interesting...I didn't know sassafras oil was used in making mdma. Wow I learn something new everyday haha.

But the dealer shouldn't be trying to market it as something amazing or new like "This is X in it's most natural form."

http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/chem_prog/advisories/safrole.htm

theres a little article on it.

Yeah thats why i asked here cuz i was kinda sketchy about buying some "sass" powder when i knew that there probably was no such thing so i was sketchy about buying it but all my friends had a good time on it so im pretty sure it was some molly or something relatively close. yeah all the dealers and my friends were like yeah man try this sass, its a natural form of X, i was like yeah bullshit haha. but thanks again guys

^ No, that DEA article is talking about actual safrole, and sassafrass essential oils.

What your dealer was trying to sell you was MDMA powder of an unknown purity. No dealer is going to try and sell safrole.

yeah i know but rollin was sayin that he didnt know safrole oil was used in the production of mdma, i was just showing him an article on it

sassafras is a tree which contains safrol oil which is a precursor for mdma

^ Correct though in this case i would think a dealer would be intending to supply mda rather than literaly sassafras containing pills.

Please use the search engine and/or check the FAQ's before asking a common question like this, as you can find the answer quite easily.

Sassafrass is often used as a slang term for MDXX powder that is not pure. Usually this is because the chemist did not want to take the time to clean up the MDXX after (s)he made it.

i was at a festival this weekend where i was sure i'd find my girl molly, but apparently she wasnt around. what was around was "sassofraz" (spelling?) what id heard about it in the past was that its very cheap, amphetamine based "ecstacy", basically junk... that pretty much describes what i paid $115 a gram for this weekend. it was a brownish powder with white rocks mixed in. i heard someone refer to it as crack molly, but all the dealers were talkin it up like it was better than actually molly (they love to think were all stupid) but wouldnt say what it actually is.... this frusterated me greatly, i shoulda just bought some G's up, but i wanted MDMA.... what *is* sass?

Sassafras is a bush/tree species common in North America. It has the particular charm of producing an essential oil that's high in safrole, a key chemical used to make MDMA. It was also once used to make root beer. Sometimes MDMA powder is called 'sassafras' (there can be a similar smell to it), but you just never know what a name might mean on the streets. The brownish powder was probably the MDMA.

yeah, so does cannabis, that dosen't mean it isn't illegal. Safrole and sassafras not certified as safrole-free have been banned in the United States as food additives or flavoring agents by the FDA since 1976 due to safrole's designation as a carcinogen. Safrole is also banned from most soaps and perfumes by the IFRA.
