San Pedro and effexor

Searched and couldn't find a conclusive answer.

Anyways I take 75 mg of effexor everyday, pretty low dose. I plan on ingesting 500mg of mescaline, or san pedro pretty soon. The cactus is all ready to go I just need advice on whether or not I'm going to endanger myself.

I've read that san pedro cactus has other alkaloids that are maoi's?? Wouldn't that possibly kill me if I'm taking effexor (snri)?
 
How has the cactus been prepared? If it's pure mescaline (e.g. purchased from a lab or a full acid base extraction) then the other alkaloids shouldn't be an issue.

Yes though, SNRI's + MAOI's can = Serotonin syndrome.

It's not pure mescaline. I just finished dehydrating the cactus so i'll be consuming the other alkaloids.


I see lots of reports on erowid of san pedro and syrian rue... which is an maoi.

This guy also claims to have combined zoloft with san pedro with little effect on the trip at all. http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=46605

And this guy claims to have done a 16 inch cutting of san pedro while on effexor. http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=42705

Also wouldn't mdma + san pedro be very dangerous if there is actually significant maoi activity going on from these alkaloids?

It's hard to say, we know very little about these other alkaloids. All the more reason to extract it fully...I wouldn't be surprised if the effexor blocked or limited the effects, as SSRIs are known to do with similar phenethylamines.

I was still able to trip on LSD while taking effexor.. Is extracting mescaline fairly simple? I read a guide and it seems manageable..
