I'm a fairly experienced salvia user, having had smoked it at least 5-6 times prior to this experence. It's been at least 3-4 months since the last time i used salvia, and i was excited to give the drug another try. In previous attempts, i would relate the salvia trip akin to being in a fun house. Everything is distorted and your understanding between reality and fantasy gets blurred and you aren't entirely sure what to make of your surroundings
For this experence, i tried a different setting, deciding my back yard would be an ideal place to smoke a fairly sizable bowl of salvia. This time, i decided to use my trusty, albeit likely carcinogenic homemade bong, constructed from an aluminium foil-based bowl (Please, no lectures about the health issues resulting from inhaled aluminiumfoil, i'm well aware of the risks and do not use it often). Walking into the backyard, i sat down in the still slightly-damp lawn chair, and proceeded to take the first hit. As i slowly breathed in, i started to feel odd random twitches, first in my neck, and then in my legs. As i let go of the first hit and inhaled the second, a strange sensation came over me. It felt as if my bong were trying to trick me into smoking more, and by instinct reaction, hurled the bong to the ground.
I then looked straight ahead at my house and suffered intense lilliputian hallucination The entire concept of size melted away, and everything (seemingly randomly) was given a certain size. I am most certaintly at a solid +++ at this point. All of a sudden, a force came over me, causing my head to turn abruptly to the right side, and down towards the garden behind me. The large wooden planks that sseparatethe different sections of the garden seemed to gain a personality of their own. The planks, which are raised aat leasta foot above the rest of the garden, melted into the dirt, and for a moment, was ienslavedby them. Now, another force pulled my head forward again, causing my gaze to shift upon the ground. On the ground appeared many spinning glowing platforms. At this point, i felt trapped into another universe. All of the forces around me were again trying to "trick" me into staying in this state. Ssuddenlyremembering an old erowid ttrip sittingguide, the idea of having your feet in solid contact with the ground was a good way to calm people down from a powerful trip. I began to run my bare feet through the cool wet grass, and ccontinueddoing so until my reality became more mmanageable I did this for perhaps one or two minutes, and then gazing at the house in front of me, realized i had some down from an extremely intense trip.
Overall, salvia is so dramatically different from any other psychedelic i have ever used due to it's utterly alien feeling. With psilocybin/LSD, there's an element of understanding, an emotional attachment to your fantasy world. With salvia, there's nothing. No strong emotions, just the feeling of being trapped in a bizarre fun house. I don't find salvia especially fun, and really don't see any reason to want to use it again.
(edit: The spellcheck screwed up somewhat badly, elimating the space after the word and doubled the first letter. Admin, is this a known problem?)
