I'm not sure if this in in the right forum but move it to where it belongs!

So Salvia Divinorum works on the K-opioid receptor in our brains.

Let's say someone has gone through the R.O.D. treatment, or Rapid Opiate Detox. If you don't know what this is, it's this implant placed in your arm, which blocks the effects of all opiates by somehow not letting any opiate bind to the recpetors in your brain. This is so an opiate addict cannot relapse.

My question is would Salvia Divinorum work on a person that had gone through the R.O.D.? Or would the Salvinorum A be prevented from binding to the K-opioid receptor in our brain?

Thanks.

As long as the implant is still in your body, it will likely block Salvia as well. Naltrexone's halflife is about 4 h (acc. to Wiki :\). Salvia divinorum should create the usual effects after removal of the implant.

Also, naltrexone's metabolite, 6-β-naltrexol, is a competitive antagonist at both mu- and kappa-opioid receptors as well, and has a half life of 13h.

Ah yeah, I overlooked this somehow...that will of course increase the overall-halflife.

It's worth noting that traditional antagonists aren't all that effective against salvinorin A, though. Even on 8mg buprenorphine / naloxone, I can have a good time, though it takes more.

Okay, sorry but all that flew right the fuck over my head.

The chemical in the implant (naltrexone) they give you is a kappa competitive antagonist as well as what it is metabolised into in your body (6-β-naltrexol). They will both make it harder to achieve effects from salvia, but as stated above you may just require more (though ymmv as that is a case with bupe/naloxone and not naltexone).

That's funny, because I get no effects whatsoever from salvia when I'm on buprenorphine.

I have a bottle with about 400mg of salvinorin A, so I can be a little freer with my dosing than someone using leaf. Crystal makes it much easier, but I hate having a syringe at my house, even if it's enormous.
