I am getting my second Ketamine infusion in just under 6 months. The dosage is .5 g over an eight hour period or 4 hours with 4 hours recovery.

This is my view, but is fair in my case.

The pain relieving effects lasted 3-4 months and the anti depressant effects a week or two.

I am the special hard case here. YMMV. I would like to get 4-6 treatments per year, by my understanding of its effectiveness. That would equal 3 grams of ketamine over a year period.

I want to set this up as a treatment, every two months.

In a hospital setting, would that be safe?
I believe it to be, but not to what degree.

thanks.

I posted here to pick up some more science about Ketamine. For myself, it has caused the best pain relief. Since it works so well for me, I am interested in finding out if 3-6 grams a year is safe in a medical setting. A ball park figure is what I'm after.

EDIT : wrong question for this forum. Can a mod move this to BDD. Thanks.

Ketamine itself is actually incredibly safe in its pharmacologic properties.

There are possible bladder issues which have been reported with MASSIVE consumption.
The amounts you are considering aren't going to do that.

Go for it!

Excessive chronic daily use can be associated with increased delusional symptoms but for the most part I think neurogenic bladder is the main concern. I would look into that a bit, and try posting in the psychedelic forums too.

I think there are some psychonauts there that have some bladder issues from overdoing their ketamine use so you may get a ballpark figure of what it takes, and maybe once a month is nothing to worry about.

From what I understand, 3-6 grams a year is an extremely small dosage to be doing and should be completely safe.

Yeah in the studies showing adverse effects some of the users were using more than a gram daily for years. There is also probably a big difference between twice a month for a few years and every day for 2 months, even if total dosage consumed is the same.

I'd do it at home if I could, but I'm referring to hospital setting.

I want to get my facts straight. My psyche doc likes it for depression and the pain doc wants it to reset the pain receptors.

I wanted to get a real idea, because it seems that if you go in and want pain relief, that's what you get with a bit of an attitude adjuster.

If you are going for the anti depressant effects, again focusing on that part seems to work more on the attitude.

Sorry if off topic. Just a side note, IMO.

I think it's a wonder drug. Now I can get back up material to show doctor.

I think every two months would do the trick.

If I had it, I'd do it at home.

The long lasting benefits if ketamine can diminish with repeated treatments. So it's possible that it will become less effective for you the more you do it. To what extent I do not know
