Safe/safish/safest sleeping pills for post E use?

I don't really smoke weed any more and whilst it can be enjoyable after E (I used to smoke a ton of it) I find it can make me a bit paranoid, seems to increase memory problems substantially and makes the next day worse for me. These days, when I do E I tend to want it all to stop when it gets past a certain point in the night. I have responsibilities and I can't be doing with being up for hours when we get back. So benzos nicely shut it all off and allow me to function the next day. I've found valarian works pretty well but melotonin doesn't seem anywhere near powerful enough. Sounds like it's worth the effort to get the valium and not risk anything else.

Adronicus, 1mg etizolam pellets should work nicely to help stop the experience. I can vouch for them myself. I use them to potentiate sleep post roll. Matter of fact I took 4 last night and fell out before I could get the party on. I was sober, ymmv.

My friend with insomnia is prescribed L-tryptophan tablets to help her sleep.

It may help, and since this is also the precursor to serotonin you should be taking it daily for a week or so after you roll anyway.

I tried to ask my doctor about L-tryptophan and she was largely against the idea. I honestly can't remember why, but, yeah...this is also the doctor who said it was okay for me to use Ambien for 10 months straight. ><;;

Valium and Etizolam are both prescription-only, are they not? I haven't made it out to the supplement store, yet, but I will head there shortly. Hopefully I can find some Valerian Root and other niceties to help tonight.

L-tryptophan is supposed to make you produce more serotonin. I would not have thought that was a good idea when you've just severely messed with your serotonin system with E.

Etizolam is legal here where I am. I would think any doctor would dislike any alternative medicines. It takes money away from the drug companies, and in turn the doctors. Now back to my Green Poison.

I got some Melatonin, Valerian Root, and "GABA Calm"...hopefully a mixture of them will help me a bit. Rolling tonight, so I'll be sure to report back when finished to let y'all know how well it works.

Doctors practices in the UK have cost of drugs come out of their budget. So if anything it would directly benefit them to dish out cheap alternative medicines. Same with the NHS in general in fact. The reason they don't tend to this is that there is a body called NICE which analyses the testing of drugs and are only supposed recommend them if they are proven to work scientifically, the benefits outweigh he downsides, and that the costs are economically viable for the benefits they provide. They often do not allow very expensive drugs through even though they work because the cost:benefit ratio is too high. So doctors are quite happy to recommend people try non pharmaceutical remedies including melotonin.

quetiapine (seroquel) 300mg did me good..i'm prescribed it for sleep tho, my usual dose is 150mg, but a non user should try maybe 50mg first to see what happens..

Consider a non-drug option.

Go to YouTube or your favorite download site. Search for the string "Delta wave binaural"

Add one set of headphones, one open mind, and just let go. See how it goes - it may not help much with SEVERE insomnia, but if you can get all the lights off half an hour to an hour before you sleep (or throw on a pair of sunglasses - darkness promotes melatonin and serotonin release, and therefore the eventual preparation for CNS standby mode), then once you're used to the dark, try to entrain to a delta wave frequency to promote REM cycling.

You might end up surprised.

I've listened to those binaural things before. Doesn't do much, if anything for me. Believe me, after a 200mg of MDMA I need something a bit more punchy than that to assure me of a straight 8 hours sleep.

Haha if you're taking 200mgs of MDMA, probably the only thing that's going to help will be a large dose of benzodiazapines - and even then, you'll probably just end up taking the edge off of the trip, not falling asleep =D

I looked into Binaural Beats a bit deeper. Skeptoid did a very good podcast on them and the notes are here: http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4147. Seems there is no proper evidence they do what is claimed. There is no convincing evidence that they work any better than any other music you may deem "relaxing", or any better than placebo. Also the hypothesis that stimulating brain waves causes a change in brain state is sketchy to say the least. The causal relationship appears to be only in the other direction which makes sense. The conclusion is that you're just as well listening to Global Underground or Brian Eno.

Anyway...I got some etizolam and whilst I've not tried it after E, it certainly appears to be a decent tranq with very similar effects to more standard benzos. Given the relative availability of it, it seems like a reasonable choice.

Melatonin! (And a little bit of weed if you want - indica being the more appropriate variety here, to just chill you out and make you sleepy - but after coming down I tend to want to be wholesome and clean).

Also a shower and some fruit goes a long way toward making you feel nice and refreshed before curling up under your blankets.

Ah yes, on the subject of supplements, tryptophan would be something to explore as well :D

when i roll i end up dancing so hard that all i can even think about is sleep. a few times ive taken a 5 min nap during the after effects while waiting for a train, only to wake up still half rolling. maybe try some physical exhaustion to help knock you out. and weed, of course
