I was going to take tagamet and omeprazole(aka prilosec) 45 minutes before, then take 1 and a half somas 350mgs. Along with that I was going to take 12.5mg of vicodin. The tagamet potentiates the hydrocodone, and the prilosec I take prescribed by my dr. for acid reflux but it also is a CYP2C19 inhibitor which should lengthen and possibly potentiate the somas. Overall is this safe for someone with a 15-20mg percocet vicodin tolerance?

I do this combo regularly and you are correct that Tagamet inhibits the CYPs (soma must be metabolized by CYP2C9 and 2C19), but don't think you need to take the Prilosec with it. I usually do this: take the vicodin and soma (350 mg) together, wait 1 hour then dose the Tagamet (600 mg), That has always worked well. Technically speaking the Tagamet doesn't "potentiate" opioids, it just slows down the metabolism. Potentiation is an additive pharmacological effect like between GABA-a receptor agonists (like Xanax) and opioid receptors agonists.
