SA HEALTH and the SA Police both want Adelaide Casino banned from selling alcohol during a proposed curfew.

In its response to the Government's review of alcohol regulations, SA Health says there is "strong evidence" that increased opening hours are associated with alcohol-related problems.

The Government has announced that it will force pubs and clubs to close between the hours of 4am and 7am, but the Adelaide Casino would be exempted because it was a "unique" entertainment venue.

"SA Health ... recommends that any restrictions of this type should be imposed uniformly and not just on new licensees or particular licence categories," the submission says.

"This will reduce the possibility that a restriction in one venue will result in movement to other venues, a displacement effect."

i hope this is ok for audd forum
if not. mods pls move :)

I sent Mike Rann an email

You do realise that putting people out on the streets is going to create more violence?

Just want you to know, that you will be held solely responsible for the first death.
I hope you can live with that.

I'm sure they will have something to say when thousands of people from Adelaide go to Parliament house to drink between 4-7am ;)

haha nice..... jake i expect a private message regarding this event.

the government are just further down the shit tube daily. me and my mates who regularly take drugs over drinking in town (money/violence/constant pissbreaks) have a thing we always stay in the clubs between 3-4 we call it the 3 o clock factor, this we have found is where most people pissed and very aggressive begin to crash and start there trouble...
government must be all for this 3 o clock fight factor. good to see them wanting to bring the dramas onto the street.
thing is i like a drink at 5,00am
dont we all :)

I swear I read that most alcohol fuelled violence occurs between 10pm and 2am. But this was in W.A. where we have different licensing laws

My experience is that the worst time for dickheads is around 1am when all our pub's close pouring the violent drunks in to the streets to compete for no where near enough taxis or lines in to clubs. Again S.A. might have different pub closing times.

I asked a family member, who works in the ER at the biggest hospital in the city here, and they said that they get the most people coming in from alcohol abuse/violence between 9pm and 1am. I was surprised because I expected to hear that the problem gets worse the later into the night you get, peaking around 3am or so, but apparently not.
