Skaði (Skadi) | Fjallgyðja í Snjó - Old Norse Viking Music

In the deep silence of the northern mountains, Skaði, the goddess of winter and vengeance, walks through snow and shadow. Daughter of the giant Þjazi, she left the warmth of the gods to claim her home in ice and stone. This song tells of her solitude, her laughter in storms, and her beauty colder than death itself.

Yggdrasill (Old World Tree) | Old Norse Viking Song

Yggdrasill, the Old World Tree, binds together all realms: Asgard, Midgard and the deep roots of Niflhel. At its base the dragon Níðhǫggr gnaws, in its crown the eagle watches wide, while the Norns carve the fate of gods and men into runes. Even Ragnarök cannot end its story, for from the ashes a new world shall grow.

The Mountain Remembers | ᚠᛃᚨᛚᛚᛁᚦ ᛗᚨᚾ (Old Norse)

“The mountain remembers you. ”This piece is a journey into stillness, nature, and memory — where time fades. The mountains have seen generations come and go… they have seen your ancestors… and they will remain long after we are gone. You are not alone. Never.

Fjǫlkynngi (The Deep Knowing) | Old Norse Viking Music

Runes of the North presents “Fjǫlkynngi (The Deep Knowing)”, an Old Norse song about hidden wisdom, inner light and the silent knowledge found beyond fear. 🌙🔥

A lone wanderer crosses a quiet land beneath pale stars. The wind carries his words over the mountains, while forgotten voices call through dreams and darkness. He seeks neither gold, power nor victory, only the deep light that calms the soul and leads him home when every visible path disappears.

I hear Enya's influence!

Galdr (The Chanted Spell) | Old Norse Viking Music

“Galdr (The Chanted Spell)” is an Old Norse ritual song about the force of words when they are no longer spoken, but sung into being. In Norse tradition, Galdr was not casual speech. It was chant, breath, rhythm and will, carried through the voice until language became power.

This song follows a lone voice calling from the chest, shaped by raven cries, heavy steps and deep ceremonial rhythm. The lyrics move around the idea that a spell is not explained - it is carried, repeated and awakened through sound.
