Opioids Roxicodone & Butrans

New guy here, followed bluelight for years now but have actually never made an account until now.

I was recently prescribed 5 mcg/hr Butrans patch per week it’s manufactured by “Ingenus”. But I have been on Roxicodone 15mg 4x a day for about 6 months now. Will having this new patch on have any benefit at all? Doc says continue Roxi for breakthrough pain but does patch cancel out the oral meds or will it continue doing its job for my chronic pain? Thanks for input on this combination, cheers.

I am on a similar regimen 15mg oxy 2x and 1 2mg Sub a day. It works fine for me. It helps by keeping me out of withdraw . I rather have the patch there are studies on small amounts of bupe increase oxy. 2mg is too much. Are u sure it's 5mcg and hour?! Maybe 35 mcg and he or higher. They last 7 days. Keeps blood stable

Nice, good to hear it’s been working for you. But yes 5 Micrograms/Hr with this patch. I believe it’s total MME 12mg in 24 hours and the patch stays on for 7 days on top of the 60mg of Oxy a day as well. My body is pretty dependent on the oxy at this point so good to hear the bupe may help me stay out of WD.
