I'm new to this I've been researching and this seems to be my best hope for support and information. I have a addiction to Opiates in general. Back in 2012 I began using methadone I was up to 60-90 mg a day, but then the absolute most wonderful thing happened I married my now husband.

He gave me the strength and determination to get off of them. I abused them for approximately 5 months and when I quit obviously I went through horrible withdrawals, the withdrawals from the methadone lasted for about 3 weeks I was 24 years old.

In October of 2013 I got two pulled before they pulled them the dentist gave me 150 percocet 10mg and afterwards he gave me 200 percocet 10 mg. That is where my trouble began the drugs made me "numb" and at the time I felt like I needed that, I was having trouble in my marriage, my home burned down to the ground the day after Thanksgiving, my husband who's in the military got stationed in a different state on top of all our problems with in the marriage.

I went from the percocet to methadone, and now roxys. I take about 30-60 mg of roxys a day I was only off the methadone for a week when I started with the roxys that was in February. I want out I can't live like this anymore, my husband deserves better, my two beautiful children deserve better, I deserve better. I have nobody though to give me any type of advice or support.

My husband is deployed right now and he knows what's going on he supports me and my choice to quit but he doesn't understand bc he's not a addict and he gets easily frustrated with me and my "whining" he thinks it's easy to just not snort a pill twice a day but as a lot of you know it's easier said than done.

My family doesn't know and to be honest I'm to ashamed to tell them. If I could get some type of time frame that the withdrawals from roxy's last I'd forever be in your debt also some type of vitamins to help replenish what the past year and a half of drug use has killed. I know everyone is different and with that being said no one persons withdrawals are the same but again a time frame would be appreciated.

I snorted my FINAL Roxy a hour ago I believe I have the right mindset for this I am absolutely determined for this to be it. I don't want to loose my husband or my children.... NO DRUG is worth what the beautiful life I had before and I can't wake up every day and worry about how I'm going to get a pill today. Advice and encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Just take it a day at a time and make small goals for yourself..dont say im never gona do any drug again because thats too much pressure..tell yourself that you are goin to make small changes in your life that help you get to your goal of enjoying life sober %) Self compassion is your best friend..you can do this!!!

that dentist should lose his job for handing out that many narcotics to someone for a toothache

bluelight is a great place to write your problems and issues out to get them out of your head and on paper/screen..u will get some of the best support and what i like to call "junky wisdom" its the best kind of wisdom lol..dont be afraid of judgement because most of us have been thru it and enjoy helping people :D

Hey tired and welcome to BL:)

Sorry to hear your up against it again. You can do this!!

medications for acute opiate detox

The medications I would explore the use of for detox would be:
>Clonidine< DOSED EVER FOUR HOURS..

one of either
>NEURONTIN< >HERE< >HERE< >here<
OR >Lyrica<
OR >phenibut<

>A BENZO BUT JUST AT NIGHT<
>a nsaid<
>melatonin<
tylenol
Senokot S is a stool softener and laxative. If you do not want the laxative you can go for strait stool softenerDioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

(Opi Withdrawal) what is the best comfort meds for opiate w/d?

Your Personal Opiate Withdrawal Arsenal

^Its a tough ride, but so long as you have the mindset & support here on BL you'll manage it.

Do you have children in your care while your husband is away? Hopefully they're school age or perhaps you could arrange care fir them while you're in the acute stage?

I'm not one planning to come off opiates, but I've certainly been through enough acute withdrawls in my time.

I know the feeling of worrying every day about running out or getting the next script. Opiates run my life & it does get to a point where it's no fun!!

I think the longest I've gone without pills is six days. As you say, we're all different, but I find Lyrica (pregabalin) cushions most wd symptoms nicely. It's used for nerve pain & is not a controlled substance. Loperamide is an OTC diarrhea med if ur stomach feels like exploding!!

Thank you all for the support it means so much you guys truly have no idea. Would any of ya'll happen to have a time frame on how long you think the acute withdrawals will last? I know I've only been on the roxys a short time but I was only off the methadone for a little over a week maybe 2 and I was still experiencing the "acute" symptoms. I know some people will say that it's not a high dosage and I haven't been on them that long but I have been a steady opiate user for over a year and a half now. And yes neversickanymore I do have a prescription of xanax bars for my anxiety so I know I'll be depending on them a little extra in the next few days. Runtoparadise my son is 5 it's his spring break so he'll be spending the week with his father, my bff who knows about my addiction came today to stay with me and help with my two year old daughter so I've got my bases covered with my children. I actually was planning on the other day being the start of my detox but I lasted until 3p.m. with no help for my children and I was on the phone with the pill person so I'm hoping now that I have help with them I can kick this nasty habit. I'll be checking in every so often when things get hard the physical part of withdrawal is awful but for me a person who is naturally anxious and prone to anxiety and panic attacks the mental part is he**!! Again thank you all so much I appreciate the support and encouragement more than ya'll know.

^Agree, actually, I'd even go do far as to say that most physical symptoms subside around day five. I find they come in stages,-.again, this differs for everyone, you may struggle with symptoms I don't.

I try to tell myself (& others) that I've just picked up a bug. That I've been sick hundreds of times before, this helps it feel less awful if I downplay it.

Hang in there.
