Ok...I know that codiene is a fairly weak drug, but as robitussin AC (10 mg codiene, 100 mg guafenisin per 5 ml) is semi OTC in my state, I use it from time to time, 2 oz. per dose, for 120 mg of codiene. Just enough for me to catch a slight buzz. However, at those levels, I usually experience bad gas/cramping, and BAD diarreah. Now what I am wondering is if this is the result of the goofynesin, or some other inactive (sorbital?) that is in the syrup.

Your stomach problems are a direct result of the guaifenesin (glyceryl guaiacolate).
Nausea is one of the most common side effects of guaifenesin, and when you ingest 1.2 grams of it, believe me you are gonna be in for some discomfort.

I haven't ever really had a problem with nausea per se...just the gas and shits. Sometimes not even gas...just really nasty shits.
