So I have ADHD and am now on Ritalin 20 mg bid. Thought I'd try it out iv see if there's any "rush" to write home about. I was sadly disappointed. Never tried coke before but I got next to nothing from approximately 60 mg iv. Any other experiences with this? Here's my prep: crushed up Ritalin 30mg into fine powder. Mixed with around 5cc normal saline. Drew up in 5cc syringe and flushed it through a macrobore filter ( like used with tpn at hospitals). Drew it back up and flushed through again. Then injected with a 5/8 in 26 g needle and popped the tourny.about 5 minutes later felt a gradual "rush" but it wasn't anything big like when banging OC. Just thought I'd share and see what kinda comments I got. Sorry if my board etticut is off I'm new at this. Thanks. Also forgot to mention I didthe same with the next 30 mg.

Ah hah ... Exactly what I was looking for. I know my comparison is half hearsay. Just not what I expected. So u think a higher dose might yield more desirable results? I doubt I'll try again anyway just curious. I understand the risks in injecting pills and all.

I really wouldn't push it...and you don't even know what you're chasing after in the first place.

Increasing the dose will just make your tolerance that much higher. I recommend against it.

Cocaine has several effects that methylphenidate does not; it also blocks sodium channels and the reuptake of serotonin. Na+ channel block causes numbness, seizures, hallucinations, & some of the erratic behaviour that coke leads itself to. SRI effects are probably responsible for the mood brightening effects too. This makes it an altogether "stronger" and more toxic/dangerous drug. The sodium channel effects in particular are probably responsile for the rush/"bell ringing" that goes on.

Methylphenidate on the other hand is a plain ol NDRI, it's just a standard stimulant. A lot of people don't find it euphoric neccesarily - just pleasantly stimulating until they crash 3h later.

Sekio explained the differences very well, I have nothing to add on that. But, one thing I noticed in your original post - You said you injected, and THEN released the tourniquet? Is that correct? If so, when IVing you want to release the tourniquet BEFORE you push the plunger down, since you risk blowing out your vein from the pressure/increase in volume..

Also, it seems like you don't really have the proper syringes for IVing.. It is good you filtered properly, but a 26g 5cc rig is WAY too goddam big. For IVing, you don't need more than 1cc of liquid for the majority of substances. You want to use insulin syringes, preferably 28g and up. 28 at the SMLLEST, personally I prefer 30 or 31g. This greatly reduces the damage done to your tissue/veins.
