In all honesty, I would call it a major interaction, being dangerous and unsafe.
I’ve heard before releasing agents and RIs (admittedly I’m not able to confirm with my amateur grasp of pharmacological theory) to be either blocked if taken directly together, far as I’m aware due to competing actions or not result in further positives while still having the risk of negative sides.
But the stacking of additional Norepinephrine activity is 100% playing with fire.
Spiking your blood pressure and HR etc to unsafe levels.
I recall MDMA somewhat binds to the bad Serotonin receptor (the heart valve one) and cannot remember for Meph either but perhaps.. so not great either.
Another thing taking speed when prescribed methylphenidate doesn’t lend to the medication remaining efficacious as I imagine there to be cross tolerance, especially when using far higher doses of another stimulant recreationally.
Using a different drug that works differently but similar enough, but in an inferior form I presume (street speed often impure and even after acetone washing what guarantee is there?) that doesn’t allow you to dose effectively still, even with a scale.
Can you be sure of washing a batch to pharma purity, then equipotently dosing using a scale ?
Recreationally using speed in this case imo isn’t worth it, I don’t want to spread myths, as this is largely anecdotal but although I enjoy my stimulants, it’s because it’s treating a issue (ADHD) and I do not get what most do from them (I briefly got hyperfocus when I had no tolerance and some euphoria but it went, with still quite significantly different overall subjective experience to “normies”) less is honestly more in this purpose.
I think best to get kicks elsewhere or not be medicated if wishing to use Stimulants recreationally.
It’s a clash IMHO but all depends on your outlook towards the reason your prescribed the Methylphenidate and your intentions for both it and the drugs you take.
Let’s say hypothetically,
Planning to just wack in back to a “prescribed dose” of Methylphenidate when having been up all weekend on paste, it just won’t work as your burning the candle at both ends. (I really trying my best to not sound like a judgey cunt!)
The MDMA would make more sense to use but while still abstaining from Methylphenidate long enough for it to clear. Still absolutely not safe in combo but is the best option for recreational.
Mephedrone is too varied in its activity Imo, although having high serotonin release, it packs plenty of dopamine and norepinephrine activity making it not safe in combo and then a issue for cross tolerance.
I could be being a fanny, Methylphenidate is quite safe and if it was taken far apart it may be okay but I don’t believe so.
Your best bet would be to use MDMA independently within safe practice for its particular use, ensuring a safe period of abstinence from Methylphenidate before dosing and after.
