Risperidone and LSD

I think I've asked this before but I don't remember an answer.

I took Risperidone for a couple of years when I was about 8 or 9 years old, to treat autism. I've since learned it is an antagonist for all the same receptors that psychedelics are known to interact with.

My question would anyone know if it's possible that risperidone has had some sort of effect on how I experience psychedelics later in life. Any contributions to discussion would be appreciated.

It more than likely didnt effect the way youll interact with psychedelics now. Youll be able to trip. If you have autism that may effect the way you react to a trip.

It s unknown how past usage of antipsychotics correlates to psychedelic experiences, but if you haven't recently had antipsyhcotics in your blood it is widely accepted that you will have a "typical experience", whatever you consider that to be. (Dose, set and setting permitting ofcourse)

i dont know why risperidone is used to treat autism. i have seen it used on autistic people i worked with but i would have loved to have seen them without antipsychotics.

What the other guys said. You only need to worry about current (or near-current) antipsychotic use, and the psychological issues the regimen is trying to treat, when considering psychedelic usage. There's no reason to think this past usage should affect your trip.

Awesome guys, thanks for the advice.

As for the autism affecting my psychedelic experiences, if anything psychs have helped me improve on autistic symptoms just by being aware of it. I still believe half the mental disorders out there are extremely over diagnosed and definitely over medicated. The only reason I asked is because psychs tend to be ridiculously visual for me even at low doses, but the more I research the more I realise it's must just be different brains and different make ups.

I know only one person who gets anywhere near the levels I get to from low doses in terms of just total visual insanity, and funnily enough that is my lovely girlfriend, in fact it's much more potent for her.

That being said risperidone really worked for me at the time from memory. Then on to Concerta, which worked for a while but in the end just fucked my sleeping and eating habits, made my body super sensitive and just generally made me unable to moderate any kind of healthy lifestyle and also just waaaaay over talkative.
