Risperidone and adderal

Three week ago I took 20mg of Adderall XR orally while coming off a prescription of Risperidone (i had been off it for 3 days). Of course, I didnt get much pleasure because as the anti dopaminergic action of the risperidone counteracted the adderall, so i simply moved around quite a bit. Overall it wasnt a terrible experience. Two days later however, I developed akathisia in my legs. It has been with me since then, though it is slowly getting better. I also noticed that my libido isnt what it used to be and i have been off of the medication for a while now.

So my questions are: did taking the adderal with risperidone somehow mess up my dopamine system contributing to my akathisia and low libido? I read online that there are no drug contraindictions between the two which is why i took it, but now im not so sure. Is it possible i have permanently damaged my dopamine system?

Risperidone alone causes akathisia, due to its DA receptor blocking action. Then you took a drug that enhances DA, resulting in further receptor downregulation on the comedown from it, making a symptom that's usually annoying but ignorable suddenly a real problem. Try taking a B complex vitamin and a benzo if you've got one. This should clear up as the risperidone leaves your system.

The DA system is pretty robust. There are few common chemical insults that will permanently wreck it.

Did your sex drive return? I am coming off this medication and have read several comments on various sites. It seems risperidone can permanently damage your sex drive....please tell me otherwise!!!! I am so worried!!!! My sex drive is ruined.
